I am in the minority, but I think there are some developmental QBs in this draft that will be, quite possibly, better than the top 4 (Ward, Sanders, Dart, Milroe) IN THE LONG TERM.  They will get to sit and learn.  Many were improving and posted stats equal to or better than than the top 4.  From this list, I am fans of Howard, Ewers, and McCord.  Keep in mind that I am Terrible at picking QB talent in college for the NFL---but Will Howard is going to help someone.  McCord will help someone.  Ewers is probably a career backup, but he can play.

Will one of these dudes shock us and DEVELOP over time into a QB1?  Statistically speaking, yes, but it's a huge gamble.  My guess would be McCord, but it could be a guy like Gabriel who has played a TON of college football.  None of these guys are your opening day QB1 though.

@MHS831 This is what we were talking about. Listen to about the 3:00 mark.

So what you are saying is--these clowns stole our idea!!!

It makes sense.  If I am the Giants, I might trade with Cleveland to assure that I get Hunter---If Cleveland is interested in Carter or Hunter, they get Carter and a fourth rounder.  Hunter is a much better fit in NY.

It was interesting that the Browns were dining Carter when Stefanski was away watching Dart.  Cleveland has to add a QB of some sort, and I have not heard the Cousins rumor much lately.  Trading with the Giants would give the Browns more draft capital to move back up for Dart if they think he will not be there at 33.

Seriously, I need to watch more of stuff like this.  I have not been doing much more than mocking and reading a few blogs by fans of teams piking before us.

I swear two teams Ive heard at least 10 players linked to are the jags and jets.

They have the highest associated number.

I think they are impossible right now to pick for, thus makes picking for the Panthers the same.

I think you have to factor need into it. What do they desperately need?

I believe it was Mcshay recently said he believes if Saints take a QB at 9 it would be Dart.  Didn't say it would happen, but that they liked Dart more

Wow.  That is interesting.  Yesterday it was announced that Shedeur would not be in the Green Room.  I wonder if there are things we do not know that those directly involved know?  If Dart went before Sanders, the cameras would be on Shedeur more than Dart.  And then there is some reason Milroe thinks he needs to be in the Green Room.  I cannot wait for April 24.  It is not natural, but I look forward to it more and more every year.  Love it.

I think that they sit tight at #3. Titans seem to be in love with Ward, which means they'll get either Hunter or Carter. If the Browns go Hunter, Carter still helps them out by giving them not just a deeper pass rush but more flexibility in the budget.

  • 2025
    • Brian Burns - $29.75M
    • Kayvon Thibodeaux - ~$10M
  • 2026
    • Brian Burns - $30.75M
    • Kayvon Thibodeaux - Bonus option?
  • 2027
    • Brian Burns - $32.5M ($14M dead cap if cut)
  • 2028
    • Brian Burns - $32.5M ($7M dead cap if cut)

Drafting Carter would allow them to move Thibodeaux if they can't keep him or get out from under Burns' contract in 2027 if they decide to work out a substantial second deal for Thibodeaux.

Dallas now finds themselves in the market for a tackle. Tryon Smith just retired.

He went to the Jets last year. Cowgirls drafted Tyler Guyton to be their LT in the 1st afterwards.

Could still be in the market tho like you said. Guyton had some rookie struggles and if they think they have somebody with higher upside available...

From what I am seeing these are the locks for teams drafting in the top 10:

1. Ten - Cam Ward

2. Cle - Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter (it will be one of the two, so this close enough to a "lock")

4. NE - Will Campbell (it has been leaked that people in the building are claiming him as "our guy")

5. Jac - Mason Graham

7. Jets - Armand Membou (they want Graham, but he won't be there. Next guy on the board is Membou)

The real wild cards are the Giants and the Raiders. No one seems to know exactly what they want to do. I think if Hunter is there for NY they take him, but Carter is not a "need" for them, and they might entertain trades down, but anyone that wants to jump up to 3 would want a QB and that might be too rich for the return for most teams. Would someone trade up for Carter or Hunter? Maybe. But it would need to be a team on the verge of winning a championship to make that move seem logical. The Raiders could go any direction. They need help on both sides of the ball. They won't go QB because of the trade for Geno. With Pete Carroll at the helm, the logical thought is defensive back. Could Starks or Emmanwori go this high? Does Carroll like Will Johnson enough to pick him? Is Jeanty their guy?

I think the Panthers spot at 8 has become very attractive. It isn't top 5, so it won't cost as much to trade up into it, and it is right above the Saints, who could be in the QB market, and the Bears, which have been heavily linked to Jeanty. I think if Jeanty is on the board at 8, Jerry Jones won't be able to help himself and will call us. Morgan will likely take the trade, add picks, and still get one of his top guys.
