Peerman is from UVA not VA Tech (sorry, us Cavs hate the Hokies so I had to defend Peerman :D

Tyrod & Evans will own the ACC next year :)

Back to the topic...

Why not take a shot at some QB in the late rounds? I know we missed with LeFors and others in the past but these guys are known, we could get some competition for Moore, and why not give them a shot instead of going for a practice squad / 3rd stringer. If we can ****** up some D-linemen and either a S or WR through the FA or early draft, lets go for these shots in the dark in the late rounds. You never know until they are in the league.

Even with Delhomme's bad playoff performance, I'm pretty sure if you asked the Panthers they wouldn't rank QB as one of their top draft needs.

Unless you draft a QB in the first round, you're highly unlikely to get a guy that can contribute now. Later round QBs are meant for the future, not immediate need.

You don't take long term projects over instant contributors when you have immediate needs (and we do).

which is why we shouldn't pay much attention to or get worked up over a report that they were looking at 2 QBs and an RB.

move along....nothing to see here.

They are simply getting as much information on as many players as they possible can. They would be a piss poor organization if they did not scout every position regardless of need.

The pick BPA fod goodness sake, how on Earth can they do that if they do not have decent reports on all positions???

Do NOT read anything into this. I expect to see us showing interest in Qbs, Rbs, Wrs, Ol, Dl, Lbs & Dbs. Those who do get excited about this clearly have not followed the build up to the draft often and under appreciate just how much work they put in to construct their draft board.

let me get my gun.

seriously do you think that they are interested in these guys?

Just to back him up.. they talked a bunch to a guy who is now in Tennessee... even told him not to do everything at the combine, causing a bunch of media folks and fans think they wanted him to drop to the 28th pick. Instead, we took future hall-of-famer Deangelo Williams.

Glad we got him instead of Landwhale. Also glad they use the smoke and mirrors to completely throw off our competition. Also glad none of us are picking for the Panthers, cause we'd screw it up, especially with most of us being complete ACC homers. ;)

that sounds stupid to me..why will a team look at every postion when they dont need it...i think these teams look at these players with the intention of saying..if this guy falls to were we wont him we will take him.not we will just look at him for the hell of it.thats just stupid and a waste of time.

Because if a great player slips through the cracks to a later round you have to draft him, even if he's not an immediate need.

Think the Patriots and Tom Brady.

White would be a project at best. He could come in with Williams and run a wild cat formation but to come in as a NFL QB at the moment I dont think he can do it. I would like to see him go somewhere and learn the NFL system for 3 years before he took the field he might be good.

I can attest that Graham Harrell is a product of the Mike Leach spread offense system. He will completely suck in the NFL. Also, Pat White will not be a Qb in the NFL. So there is no info here besides, it sounds like Nick Goings is gone, and we are looking for his replacement. Seems as if we may be looking for our Earth, Wind, and Fire. Our Three-Headed Dragon.

Wow! Believe it or not, they have nothing but time and a lot of these meetings are for day 2 picks. I would bet my bottom dollar that the day 1 board is already full at every position. The combine is were the players value will start to rise and fall. This whole thing is just an exercise in networking.

BPA. That's how we draft, instead of forcing needs and reaching for positions. Thus, they do their homework and are prepared in case a high caliber athlete falls.
