Your dollar at work

Now I'm no financial expert but to me this didn't look good for the US to me. I've been in Australia for a little over a week and in the time I've been here the USD vs. AUD has gone from .96 USD = 1 AUD to today where it's at 1.05 USD = 1 AUD that's a .09 swing and now .06 of that came from the announcement that the US was going to print $600b.

Now this would be good for me if I was heading back tomorrow but this can't be good for the US.

Also with that said everything over here costs a lot more like a Soda that might cost $1 in the US costs $2 in Australia.

I lived in Germany for about six years - the dollar and euro were almost even when I got there. The dollar was worth as little as 65-70 euro cents a few times, but usually bounced back after a few weeks. I've seen AUD anywhere from about 65 cents to $1.10. I wouldn't be too worried about it yet. We still have a very resilient economy..... for now.

But that is a remarkable swing in just a week.

Don't worry about it. We will be on a level playing field soon enough.

Yea, all the nations will be broke, except China! When that happens, they will just buy everything in site. They won't have to fire a single shot. China's economy just suppassed Japan's for #2! US is still #1, but for how much longer? GM sells more cars in China than they do in the US!

Forget about learning Spanish, we all better learn Madarin!

When I was in Japan in the mid-80's the US Dollar was worth 240 Yen. Now it's worth 81 Yen?

We better lean to love steamed rice and fish heads! If Washington isn't careful, the White stars & Blue background in our flag will be replaced with a Yellow Hammer and Sicle on a red field!

What currency are we buying their products with?
