Oh, don't kid yourself, I drink a few glasses a day. However I know that many 20 year olds don't really care for it yet.

that has a lot to do with my pops though. he loves good wine so I have been spoiled my whole life knowing whats good and whats not. always good to go over to their house tho bc theyve always got at least 2 or 3 good reds

Well I forgot to mention I have a firepit in my yard, and my house is in a really cool spot to hang out. I was planning on grabbing some food or maybe taking her to a desert place because she gets off work at 830 and probably needs time to get ready and stuff...then just take her back to my place and have a fire ready to light and a guitar and bottle of wine sitting nearby. Screw watching movies for a least the first few weeks. You need to be getting to know eachother. Talking during movies is very annoying. And she's 20. The last thing she wants to be doing is sitting there twiddling her thumbs during a movie.

If you're a good cook, then by all means cook. If you're marginal though, best to go out somewhere because she probably doesn't like you enough yet to just be able to appreciate the gesture (Like when you've been dating for 3 years, she knows you're miserable at cooking and just thinks it's sweet anyways).

That's probably my worst first date story. I love to cook, and am pretty proficient in the Kitchen. This girl I met freshman year of college and I had a thing for a while. But she had a boyfriend. Finally they break up summer before Sophomore year and I invite her over to the apartment and cook her a great meal. I even remember the menu: Appetizer was a Balsamic reduction w/ fresh parm cheese. Then we had Garlic-parmesean chicken w/ oven roasted potatoes, steamed veggies and a ceasar salad and I made bananas foster for dessert.

She was rude throughout the entire thing and I was really ready for her to leave by the time she finally did. I couldn't figure out for the life of me what it was--she'd never been like that before. Needless to say, I've not talked to her since and that was over a year ago.

Like others have said, somewhere casual is best. You don't have to take her to the Melting Pot. They're not the most intimate, due to the fact that you're at a table with 8 other people, but a Japanese Steakhouse might not be a bad idea. Go somewhere you can be comfortable and don't forget to be a gentleman. Also, decide if you want it to be a date, and if you want her to think it's a date. Your answer to both of those questions should help you out a lot.

im jealous.

Also don't double date. Just talk to a few of her friends find out some of her interests and take advantage of the information.

Also, personally I prefer to go do some sort of activity over just going out to eat (which can happen afterwards anyway). You may want to consider this.
