Carolina Panthers should sign Randy Moss

Laetitia

(By Tom Sorensen, [email protected]) Carolina ought to sign span class=boldRandy Moss/span, or at least try to. This has been among the most frustrating seasons the Panthers have ever had. Moss at least would make the team interesting.p/Would Moss serve as a role model for young receivers such as span class=boldDavid Gettis/span and span class=boldBrandon LaFell/span? Not unless you define role model differently than I do.

"A team can claim Moss and pick up the final year of a contract that pays him $6.4 million in base salary. Winless Buffalo has the worst record in the league and the first shot to claim Moss, followed by Carolina and Dallas. If no team claims him, the Vikings owe Moss the remaining $3.888 million on his deal. He'd be available for around $450,000 and Moss could choose the team he would like to join."

There's really no point in bringing the guy in for 9 games in a losing season. If anything, it'd set us back for the future to give Moss the starts instead of Gettis or LaFell. And he's not exactly a guy you want mentoring the younger players either.

I haven't seen one good argument for bringing him here, this is about what I've seen...

why not

nothing to lose

it'd be fun

how cool would it be to see him in a panthers jersey

make games exciting

Basically, a whole lot of nothing.

So I could say to vikings' fans that we both have dumb FOs

So let me get this straight......

People think that the same front office that pinched pennies by cutting players like Brad Hoover, not resigning a great fit here in Moose, trading Chris Harris for pennies on the dollar, and not bringing in a veteran QB option is all of a sudden going to go nuts and make a waiver claim for an over the hill WR that may or may not help us to the 7-9 mark this year?

Right.

    • I want to throw in how much easier it is for a QB to develop and improve with a good oline.  Huge credit to the front office for spending the money on our two guards.  Cade Mays also had a 2nd really good game starting at center.  Love how he has developed and hope he's the real deal. Look at what Stroud is dealing with now in Houston after injuries and problems with their oline.  Strouds accuracy has been greatly affected as it seems like he doesn't trust his protection. Canales is doing a great job developing Bryce.  I think the QB whisperer might be for real. And obviously big props to Bryce.  First round pick that looks horrible in his first year.  Different coaches and systems.  Fans and media are calling him the biggest bust in NFL history and he looked like it in the first two games this year.  Gets benched.  Young man keep his cool and just continued to work and only worry about what he can control.  I hope things continue like this and we end up with a great success story. Bryce Young kept pounding.
    • Outside of Philly (who currently is #3 in pass defense) the rest of our remaining opponents are bottom 1/3 of the League in that regard.  Let's see what Bryce can do versus bad pass Ds.
