The Ultimate Panther Positivity thread

Ok. We've all been depressed with the Arizona butt whoopin and the Peppers fiasco. So what is good about our team next year?

Jake- yes he is 34, yes he sucked in the playoff game, but- his team mates love him and go to bat for him and he will be hell bent on righting his wrong.

Davis has another full year of experience as off. Co-ordinator- gotta say his first full year with his Qb healthy wasn't half bad.

Yes Trgo is back -sigh....but he is on a 1 year contract I think -which means he is in a "contract " year. Hopefully he reacts the way players do in contract years and has a great season. Otherwise he knows he's outta here and nobaody else will want his fat azz either.

One of best running games in NFL-another year of experience for JStew = he and DeAngelo being scary good.

If we resign Gross, which I think we will- and we get Vincent back healty- our OLINE is very good

Godfrey has another year experience-dude was pretty good for a rookie

Chris Gambell back-

Very good linebacker corps.-add in a healthy Connor

Moose back and good for an old man and Jarrett showd flashes, think he can be a force-he made a several high pressure clutch first down snags this year

Bottom line is we went 12-4 and still have alot of pices to the puzzle. If we can rebuild our D-line we can have another good year.

Yes we will have a harder schedule next year but as always, someone who is supposed to be dominant will end up being not as good as advertised like San Diego was at the beginning of this year.

My heart is still with the Panthers, and I'm with you guys in hopes that the changes they are making are the right ones at this time. We all know they have to do something to take this team from one-and-done to a real SuperBowl contender. I honestly didn't expect the Panthers to reach the SB this year at all, so no surprise there for me. And I had so many reservations about the team going into the playoffs that none of what happened was too shocking. Except of course the embarassment of that last game.

I think we've got a great chance to improve in '09, if for no other reason, because the coaches that will be on the staff know that their asses are on fire.

What I thin is huge is that our two key defensive cogs, Beason and Godfrey are an extra year embedded into the system. For two vital positions in our defense having such inexperience is bound to cause inconsistencies. Every year that ticks by though, these guys will get better and better and allow our DC to trust them a little more and get a bit more aggressive with the playcalling.

Without Peppers we will have a pretty much open competition for every position on the DL. I expect us to get a lot of depth here and to have players rotating more. Personally I thin that will be significant as each player will be pushed to improve or they will get over taken on the depth chart. I think having Rucker, Jenkins and Peppers for so long entrenched allowed them to take chances on developmental guys who could turn into diamonds. Now they have to go out and get guys who are hungry and who produce. I like the sound of a line who does not nec. have stars, but players who know they have to fight to keep their job.

Unless we can land Haynesworth :P

Glad to see a thread like this.

There is so much effin negativity due to the playoffs. Rightfully so? Yes. For about a week or two. Time to move on. If Delhomme and company can pick up their asses and move forward, so can us fans who just WATCH the game.

Not to mention, look at how much we have going for ourselves compared to other teams (i.e., Raiders, Lions, Browns, Jags, Chiefs, Rams, Seahawks.)

We have an insane RB tandem, one of the most electric WR's to play the game, a solid defensive LB corps, a solid OL that helped produce franchise records for rushing, a solid kicker, and bunch of vets that actually love Carolina.

Not to mention that I've lived in city of Charlotte for the past six years, so having a team that is just 10 minutes away is always a positive.

A few improvements and tweaks in the offseason, and we'll make another playoff run. I'm most excited to see Dan Conner on the field. I really hope he ends up replacing Na'il Diggs. I liked Conner in college and was amazed that we stole him so late in the draft.

I'd love it if Carolina can set a new record for most wins. Let's say 13-3.

I need to buy a dang Hoover jersey.
