I always thought Walt would be brought back a bit more (they had that one exchange with Locke off the island, but it sucked). He seemed like such a pivotal character early on.

They really could have kept this thing going for many more seasons, especially when you consider all of the potential stories in the alt.

yeah, Walt was built up to be a big character early on......then they just dropped it. He was suppose to be special and always had odd/bad things occur to those around him. I guess none of that will ever be addressed.

I'm glad they are ending it. Gives the show a chance for a somewhat legit conclusion instead of dragging it out and then half to wrap it up at the last moment or never end it.

well the actor that played Walt grew up. like the alt timeline is still in 2004 (we think) and malcolm david kelly is now like 18. he was playing what...a 13 year old?

but they could have made him work in the main timeline.....he left the island and therefore the growth made sense. I still wish they could have found a way to answer those questions about Walt that were heavily focued on early.

I think lots of things in the show, especially early on, should just be given up on. Walt, Eko, Aaron, the whispers, the others, etc were all things that were really important at one point but for whatever reason don't matter anymore.

Lots of people are up in arms saying everything was just made up as they went along and there was no master plan. I don't understand that at all. It'd be a miracle to pull off 6 seasons of a show with an exact plan ahead of time. It seems to me they had a blueprint of what they wanted and filled in holes along the way. When they were writing season 1 and focused a lot on Walt they had no idea the show was even going to get a 2nd season much less 6.

I can handle things not being addressed....like Walt, etc. Impossible for them to really hit everything. I do think they could avoid some pretty big contradictions in the plot line though. Looking back Mr. Ekos death looks to be one.

yup you are right. although the others and the whispers have been explained really. so was the polar bear.

DHARMA Initiative brought them and performed test on the bears. They were initially kept in the cages Sawyer and Kate found themselves in.

The DHARMA Initiative was trying to stop the end of humanity. It is the whole thing with the #'s. The #'s were in the Valenzetti Equation. It was supposed to predict the end of humanity. They were there studying ways to alter the #'s and stop the extinction of humans. They brought the Polar Bears to the Island to reverse evolution. They wanted to turn them back into brown bears. If they could do this then they would learn how to slow down extinction, and possibly make it work for humans. They also trained them to turn the wheel. That is why the one was in the desert back in like season 4 I think. They explain a lot of this stuff on the extra DVD stuff and some hidden DHARMA vids online.

Nobody is complaining -- he just couldn't remember how they explained it.

It's a long and complicated series, and I know I've forgotten a thing or two about it.
