How bout this for a rabbit hole to go down.

Jacob and Esau? Brothers in the bible and each was the starting point of Israel and Islam.

One loses his birthright over soup(more or less) and thus things spin from there.

I was thinking the same thing, last night. Jacobs favorate son was also named Benjamin.

Yeah it could be the Esau story too, but the Egyptian statue is odd. Only forever to wait to find out.

This might add some context.

Remember the song "Sympathy for the Devil" by the Rolling Stones?

Interesting line as it relates here : " I was round when Jesus Christ had his moment of doubt and pain/ Made damn sure that Pilate washed his hands and sealed his fate"and

I stuck around St. Petersburg when I saw it was a time for a change, killed the Tsar and his ministers - Anastasia screamed in vain") and World War II ("I rode a tank, held a general's rank when the Blitzkrieg raged and the bodies stank").

Here's a link to another fan site's forum, discussion about Jacob , the new Locke, etc. Pretty interesting.

I'm still digesting everything. Gonna watch it again tonight. So many answers in so many small ways. Don't wanna miss anything. ;)

Hey! What about Phil?? Pretty awesome death for that jerk. :) Even Radzinsky looked scared. Loved that Miles called Dr. Chang, "Dad!"

Ammit-t12468.jpgOk check this out.

Ammit (also spelled Ammut, Ammet, Amam, Amemet and Ahemait) was the personification of divine retribution for all the wrongs one had committed in life. She dwelt in the Hall of Ma'at, who was the personification of the concept of truth, balance, and order. In the Ancient Egyptian underworld (known as Duat) hearts of the dead were weighed by Anubis against a feather from Ma'at's headdress. The hearts of those who were heavy with wrongdoing failed the test were given to Ammit for her to devour. Those whose souls were devoured were not permitted to enter Aaru, having to be restless forever—effectively dying a second time. If the heart was lighter than a feather then the soul was judged by the god of the underworld, Osiris.
