With the 1pick 2011 the Panther draft what position? pos

I wouldn't switch around the entire defensive scheme but it's not like we have a top rated dominating defense. We could benefit from adding some talent on that side of the ball, especially on the line.

I agree to an extent, which is why if we don't draft andrew luck i want that kid out of LSU, the corner. with marshall leaving, we will need a new #2, and everything I've heard about him has been good. I think we could solve the DL issues with free agency, because everything I've heard about this draft is that there is not much talent in the DL department.

Who we pick in the draft might have a lot to do with who we sign in FA. If the plan is to stay out of FA (except for scrubs), and built through the draft, then I doubt we'll have a good team no matter who we draft.

We need to go out and find a good veteran QB n FA, with the idea that he will lead the team next season. Moore is simply too inconsistant to be our starting QB, and Clausen isn't even close to being ready to start. Drafting another QB with our first pick is a possiblity, but the Panther coaching staff would have to come to the conclusion that Clausen won't be able to develope into our starter.

If I'm calling the shots in the draft, then we trade down (if possible) and look for DTs who can collapse the pocket and pressure the QB. This is our biggest weakness on defense. If there aren't any DTs worthy of high picks, then we'll need to look to FA to fill our needs. If Richardson kills that idea, then I think I'll just listen to the Panther's games on the radio while I do something else.

first pick will be the bills, we will get second and the best available position for a first rounder but the panthers need a couple QBs.

if the Bills pick first it will only be b/c their schedule is significantly harder. Bills > Panthers.

    • I don't see the Wallace speed ratings on the field. Not once have my eyes been drawn to him from any suddenness or explosiveness. Kind of like looking for a flash out of Bryce Young last year. I am aware that he is a rookie and his recognition and processing will be slower but if you don't close ground once you have finished recognizing and processing I worry about it. Now this, I think, disregards the new offensive staff's experience with WRs and their influence on who gets added. It isn't the old staff people and they are the offensive deciders, Morgan shouldn't be exerting his will over people whose focus has always been offensive football, and I don't think he will try to do that.  We'll see, but the two we added this year don't look like busts.
    • Not comparing the players just the use of analytics which has been and remains a key part of the structure of our approach in the draft since David Tepper became owner. All I'm saying is going forward we just don't know if this team will stop drafting Jonathan Mingo type prospects because the scouts are largely the same and the approach largely remains the same. Morgan has said he seeks players with a certain mentality (I refuse to type the phrase because this team has gotten taken to the woodshed too many times this season so it falls on deaf ears now) that's really the only key difference I can see as of right now. Next years draft will tell us what we need to know.
