The Raiders weren't guaranteed to keep Seymour after last year.

They only GOT him for a partial year because he was in a contract year. They fortunately signed him to a renewal.

So you're saying it's smart to give up a 1st round pick for a dude you're only guaranteed to have <16 games.

Good lord people. Yes...Oakland's better, but nothing changes the fact they lost that 1st and could have had NOTHING to show for it prior this season if Seymour had decided to go to UFA market.

we have a good scouting department.. That I do believe..

what we don't do, which the Pats follow a strict, yet successful formula:

trade players away before they are too old.. trade back when the value is not there (instead of reaching).. and they find FAs which they are able to scheme them into a game plan..

3 things we really could afford to work on..

they also don't trade future picks every year and if they do they don't sacrifice (what I call) integrity.. That simply means they don't back down unless it makes sense..
