Is there anyone that still cares about this season?

Let's say you're John Fox. You don't speak to the owner. You're handed a team that you have no say in creating that completely sucks. You know you're moving your family to another city in a few months no matter what happens.

Why would you be concerned about coaching well? John Fox could prepare his ass off and coach like no one has coached before and this team isn't making the playoffs. So what's the point?

why? Do you really think owners would want to hire a guy that stops coaching to the best of his abilities when a season goes bad? and from all accounts fox has a lot of pride and cares about the fact that he has never went under 7-9.

I just don't buy that the all of the coaches stop caring when they are looking for new jobs

I think the bigger question is: What's you agenda for posting a thread like this? Are you trying to get me to change my feeling towards this team and say I don't care anymore? Is this so you can go around telling everyone "See, I was right! No one cares about the Panthers anymore! " Would it stroke your ego enough to think that you changed every one's opinion of this team to match yours and to think that you actually can control other people's thoughts by your posts on a message board?

If it will get you to STFU, then I will agree with you and say that I don't care about this team anymore.

But truth be told, I will still go to the rest of the home games this year, and still watch every away game on TV.

Sorry to burst your bubble.

I've been a fan since the day we got the team, and I'll be a fan for life...even when I move to NYC next year. But I no longer care...this year...if we win or lose. I'll go to all the home games as usual, I'll enjoy myself, I'll be entertained, etc. But I'll no longer get bummed if we lose, or super happy if we win. At this point, it serves our team better to continue to be crappy. Do I mean tank? No! Just be crappy as we have been. We need changes at the end of the year, and being crappy will allow that to happen. Winning our last few when other teams aren't playing may only allow for a lot of the same crap to stay in place here. We need to hit rock bottom before we can look up. If we continue to swim in poo...it'll only smell worse and worse.

We need a new QB. Moore can't play under pressure and Clausen may need 2-3 yrs under his belt, if he's even good at all. We don't have that kind of time. I say we draft Luck BUT sign a FA qb who can guide him, as we also slowly fill in the holes we have already. Building through the Draft is a great idea, but a huge gamble, and it takes time. You don't have time in the NFL. All you have is Right Now.

We have a few bright spots on this team, and we have many dead spots. We need to replace those dead spots, draft guys that can play behind those parts we bring in (in order to take over in 1-2 seasons time), and change our entire team philosophy. The run first gameplan is DONE. Scrap it please.

I'm sick and tired of being a mediocre organization. That's all we've ever been in this entire team's history minus the four Playoff years. That's not good. In order to build a dynasty you need a rock solid philosophy, a rock solid QB, and enough parts that work the way you want them to. Right now we have none of that.

I think it is dumb to say that management, coaches and players dont care if they win.

they just dont have the talent, drive, or mojo to do it.

Believe it or not the majority of the players are busting their nuts every week to win. They all have something to prove - its a friggin job to them yes, but they have their pride as well, and what they can prove on the field this year should translate to another coach next year, whether that coach is the Panthers coach or not.

I love the notion that a guy who spent more money getting a team than some of us will make in our lifetimes, a guy who fired his own sons rather than let their conflict affect the team, a guy who his peers consider a leader and a man among men but also a man who always has tried - and still does try - to stay in touch with common fans...that guy, he one day just woke up and said 'aaahh, screw it' :nonod:

(Yeah...right)
