Fox: "Matt Moore gives us the best chance to win"

CRA, do you think we should just give up on Clausen and get rid of him after less than 3 games? Just wondering what your thoughts are on that.

Why would we do that? Just b/c I think Moore gives us the best chance doesn't mean I think we should get rid of Clausen. What Clausen's 3 games showed us is he isn't ready to be thrown out there on the field yet. That was painfully obvious. Jimmy can't do the basics required here yet.

Again, I think if you are REALLY a fan of Clausen/Carolina.....you don't want Jimmy being thrown out there to play Foxball. Fox offense/scheme is a joke. The mental aspect of things is too huge and based on what we saw from Jimmy Fox could end this kids career before it even gets a chance.

bottom line is Fox's 3 yr old playcalling, zero run game, and a 1 man WR corp who is no longer a beast is going to make QBs horrible imo.

Duh! Us losing doesn't make Clausen or Pike any better.

It just no longer matters if he is better or not. We no longer have anything to play for. Other than top draft pics. And personally I could care less to watch that or watch player development practice games.

losing doesn't improve them but PLAYING IN GAMES DOES, IF YOU DON'T WANT TO WATCH, GO FISHING,GOLFING OR WHATEVER ELSE YOU LIKE TO DO. NO MATTER IF CLAUSEN/MOORE/PIKE OR WHOEVER STARTS ON SUNDAY I WILL STILL WATCH CAUSE I'M A TEAM FIRST FAN NOT THE PLAYERS I LIKE ON THE TEAM MOST.

The biggest difference between you and I right now is that I am not convinced we are going to lose each week. I could change my mind in a few weeks. But right now I want to see if we can at least win a few more especially at home. So I still want Moore in there. If we end up losing a bunch more I have no problem putting in Clausen or Pike for that matter. Lets see if he is better at home next week.

Discouraging season so far for sure.

yeah, I agree with this. The players and the coaches still want to win, and Moore gives us the best chance right now to accomplish that from what we've seen... but I don't think it's a huge improvement either way.

Progress on wins will come mostly from improved play at other positions as well. If a QB switch was all we needed, we wouldn't be in this hole.

Me not wanting to watch has nothing to do with the players. It is because of the team.

And many could argue supporting such a product can be just as anti-fan as those that don't. You are supporting Richardson's pocket as much as you are supporting the team and this man is the main problem why this team has so very little help out there.

that's what makes you feel good when the team gets better, when you stick with your team thru the highs & lows. it doesn't bother me if you or other people choose not to watch or spend your hard earned money at BOA. if JR is still doing things on the cheap 3 or so years after the labor mess is over then i might start looking for others ways to spend my time

Maybe the crowd noise got to Moore? Obviously it's not all his fault but he was off on a lot of his throws this week. I'm anxious to see if his play will improve in the comfort of our stadium.

Either way. I give Moore around 4 more games. Then we need to see how Clausen is coming along. His limited play time this season plus the reps he gets in OTA's and TC next season should at least let the new HC get an idea on if our qb situation is stable enough to use our top 3 pick on another position.

Feels like the offense has taken one step forward and two steps back. Moore should remain the starter for now but Clausen should be given the chance to play again. We need to find out if he can be the future. Today's loss means the chance to be competent is gone. The rest of the season should be all about Clausen/Gettis/Lafell and letting them develop.

Sure he made a couple of bad throws, but I als saw him make the ones that really mattered, the critical ones. When we were still in the game, he made them. And I saw other players not doing their part to help him out. I saw Smith drop 3 critical passes today. I saw Smith lose it, try to do to much and give up a fumble that led to the touchdown that sealed the game. I saw LaFell do the same, by not hustling or making himself available most of the game. I didn't see Gettis at all. And Stewart was pretty much non-existant.

Same poo happened last week with Smith. And after it did Matt and Gettis was able to come back and win it. This week, when we had only been capable of scoring 3 points....that second touchdown was the nail in the coffin.

A lot more people should be more pissed off at Steve Smith today than Matt. He's letting personal poo get in the way of us winning games.

I'm telling you guys...watch Drew Brees tonight. Everybody thinks he's one of the greatest QB's in the world, but watch how often he throws short, high percentage passes and allows his playmakers to get the yardage vs. throwing it 20yds downfield. If we expect either of our young QB's to be successful, that's what we need to be doing, especially if we can't run the ball.
