Fox: "Matt Moore gives us the best chance to win"

At what point does th FO say "fug Fox's record" or what he thinks we have 2 think about this teams future and makes him play Clausen???

This is another fug up by jerry. Your rebuilding with a coach your not rebuilding with. He's thinking about himself and not what's best for the teams future.

Exactly. Clausen isn't much worse at all, and I personally believe he has higher upside (though others have disagreed). That being said, Moore gives us the better chance for now. If Fox can put together a decent ending to this season, get us up to 6-10 or 7-9, he'll look much better than if we go 4-12 or lower while preparing for next season.

I agree but this is a a problem beause Fox is more worried about his next job and contract. Which has nothing 2 do with this teams future. Jerry fuged up by keeping Fox if he was going 2 start "going young."

Clausen will at least be here next year and should at least get play time in the preseason and a chance to compete for the #2 if not the #1.

Sooner or later the FO will have 2 step in and make Fox play jimmy the last 5 or 6 games this season. Next preseason is not helping the new coach who would like more then 3 games of film on Jimmy before the best QB draft since 83' and a top 3 pick.

I'd rather start Moore for the rest of the season. Clausen at least has the potential to develop into a true franchise QB and I want as little of Fox, Davidson and Rip Scherer to rub off on him as possible.

and MMoore, and ....cause with our O-line, playing too many games without getting killed back there isn't a gimme....

Sometimes I can't believe what I read here. Moore had a bad game, no question, some his fault some the fault of the WRs. But go back and watch the games Clausen played and tell me he's even half the quarterback of Matt Moore at this point and I will laugh my ass off.

1. Clausen held on to the ball too long.

2. Missed wide open receivers

3. Never threw the ball down the field(sans the blown coverage play against Stewart in NO)

4. Had no accuracy

5. Threw the ball hard as poo, even to runningbacks out of the backfield

6. Lacks pocket awareness

But wait he had the only non turnover game this season, he's great.....

I'm sorry but wtf is wrong with people on this board, Yes we're 1-6, yes we're practically out of the playoff hunt. But Clausen does not give us ANY chance to win, he's shown a complete lack of pocket awareness, inability to move the ball, not being able to read the defense, or understand anything beyond checking the ball down, so let's put him in the game.

No one is saying "give up" on Clausen. But he is ABSOLUTELY NOT NFL READY. Not even close, not even kinda close, or kinda kinda close. He has so many fundamentals to work on its not even funny. You don't learn fundamentals on the field, you learn them in practice. So put Matt Moore out there on the field, Sit Clausen for the next 2-3 years so he can learn and work on everything he needs to ala Phillip Rivers, so when he gets out on the field he actually has a chance to succeed.

Edit: The offensive line is also playing like trash, as is our #1 wide receiver. Maybe we're expecting too much of smitty, but I remember when those circus sideline catches were the norm, now they're nonexistant.

Seriously if Smitty makes both those catches we would have had at least 2 field goals, more likely at least 1 td. Every win and loss isn't solely on the back of the qb, this is a team game, and credit needs to be given where credit is due. Our WRs, OLine, QB, RBs and even our FB are playing far below the level required to win consistently.

Statistically he's about 10/11 the QB Moore is

That is not the point people are making.

We are going 2 lose no matter who is QB Moore or Clausen.

The differance between them is if Moore keeps playing and losing how does it help the future of this team?

Atleast if clausen plays and lose we find out if he can be the QB of this team in the future or do we need 2 use what is more then likley a top 3 pick on a QB. (which alot of scouts are saying could be the best QB draft since 83')

Phillip Rivers had a good Qb in front of him. If the chargers didn't have brees Rivers would have played early then he did. Not the same situation here.

Statistically Ryan Fitzpatrick is a better quarterback than Tom Brady.

it's not about stats or whether clausen is better than moore , it's about looking toward the future of this franchise of which these people have none(fox, entire offensive staff,MOORE)

So you do that by getting Clausen beat up?

Fox is right, Moore does give this team the best chance to win, and winning is exactly what they need to try to do. Just because fans give up, that don't mean the coaching staff and players should.

And I can guarantee you that the next coach is going to be looking at film of this season to see who gave up and who didn't. I know I wouldn't want quitters on my team, regardless of what any fan thinks about them.

Clausen will play next week I'm sure of it but yea I don't understand why starting Moore who's not going to be a Panther next year more or less next weeks is going to help. Let JC get his experience with the oline, Gettis, Smitty, LaFell, Goodson, our backs etc.

Charlotte Bobcats won a bunch of games too when they're seasons were well over and f*cked up there draft position each and every year...They can't draft for sh!t tho so its an separate issue. Panthers have a chance to get some studs if they get a top 3 pick why mess that up to save John Fox bum ass? season is over.

clausen is a grown man playing a grown man's game, & therefore should be ready to take a beating if needed. it's time people face certain facts.(1) this team was never put in a postion to win this year no matter how you try to candy coat it(2)if fox didn't like the hand being dealt to him he could have quit instead of collecting a paycheck (3) Moore has no future on this team

That is what we should do in January. Until then we still have 9 game left and I want to win as many as possible. I am not convinced we will lose no matter what. I don't know how many we win but I hope all four at home. Beyond that maybe one or two on the road. But I want the best guys on the field no matter who they are.

Too bad not we don't have enough playmakers on the offense right now.
