Would I be a fake fan if i stopped watching the season?

I think it's cool not set your time aside to watch it. Doing something else more productive should be acceptable.

I've done a few small jobs and some volunteer work during the bucs and bears game.

It's quite painful to bare especially when the team gives you hope that they can play well. I'm trying to get into the "rebuilding" mindset to make things more bearable.

The worst part for me is watching the offense let the defense down every week. Just sad. I hope meeks stays or we at least still keep a 4-3 cover 2 to keep the Defense together.

LOL, Sadly, Carolinator is right. Our only hope at a semi-enjoyable season for a hometeam is the Canes. Panthers suck. Bobcats suck. We're all just waiting on the next personnel move - A Panther firing, a Bobcats trade, otherwise, nothing will change.

You have my approval. I've told myself each week that I wasn't watching the next, yet find myself doing it anyway, but I'm getting closer to my limit.

I wouldn't consider you a fake. Nor any fan not going to the games

I'd even go as for as to say you're more of a fan if you don't show up. That's more likely to send a message that the fans are just not happy with this team, its coaching, and the management.

It's their product and it's bad. With the hard economy I can understand people wanting to spend what little spare money they have on something that's actually entertaining.
