And as far as that goes, I'm not convinced at this point that Stewart-Goodson is just as good a rotation as Williams-Stewart (or Stewart-Williams).

I still don't understand why anyone want's us to get rid of Williams. Everyone is saying that in today's NFL you need two capable back's to compete, if this is true then why would we want to get rid of one of those capable back's? Is it so we can draft another one in the future? If the answer is yes, then lets wait until DeAngelo Williams is at the point in his career that Stephen Davis was before we let him go. Until D-Will is physically unable to play, I would like to see him in a Panthers uniform. There are 30 running back's in the league that have been in the league longer than D-Will and 16 of them have over 111 rushing yards. Also 6 of the players that have been in the league longer also have more yards than D-Will. Maybe D-Will will get better with age like Thomas Jones, Cedric Benson, LaDainian Tomlinson, Frank Gore, Michael Turner, and Steven Jackson. Plus if we are going to draft another running back I would rather wait until LaMichael James from Oregon, Ed Wesley from TCU, Adam Robinson from Iowa, Edwin Baker from Michigan State, MICHAEL DYER FROM AUBURN become eligible.

Stewart is the expendable one. That type of runner will wear out faster than a D-Will type. Plus Stewart always seems to never be quite 100%. I dunno anymore, but DeAngelo is still one of the most explosive backs in the league. I'm just gonna be patient and understand this year is about watching our young players improve for the most part. I'm not gonna worry about this sh*t yet because if anything happens, it will be a long time from now and I don't want to be anymore pissed than I already am.

DeAngelo Williams YPC since he has been in the league, up to this year, is 5.1. Jim Brown is the all time leader with 5.2. DeAngelo is just as good as Jim Brown. Are you kidding me? Want to put DeAngelo back in the fifties and sixties? Against much slower players? Do you not think his ypc would not go up a tenth of a yard.

DeAngelo Williams is one of the top running backs in league history. Quit holding previous "greats" up as Gods.

Emmit Smith is probably considered a greater running back than D. If you take away his last two years in Phoenix, his ypc (not that such is everything) was 4.2.

DeAngelo has three all world stats that enable one to compare him to LT

Only Jim Brown, O.J. and DW have hit 5.5 ypc average, 1,500 yards and l5 touchdowns in a season

Only Jim Brown, Chris Johnson, and DW have EVER had seven runs for thirty yards or more in a season for touchdowns.

Only Jim Brown, Marshall Faulk, and DW have EVER averaged 5.0 a carry for three straight years.

Anyone with those stats is among the all time greats in skill. ALTHOUGH THE SEASON IS NOT OVER, HAD DEANGELO WILLIAMS PLAYED BEHIND A GOOD LINE THIS YEAR, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN THE FIRST RUNNING BACK IN HISTORY TO HAVE AVERAGED 5.0 YPC FOUR STRAIGHT YEARS.

I'm sorry but DeAngelo is soft. A foot sprain? Are you kidding me? A foot sprain?

Look, I'm as big of a Carolina fan as anyone here but what is this guy thinking? I agree that this might be a good chance for J-Stewart to get rolling but D'Angelo certainly isn't rolling either, and he hasn't done much for awhile now. Yes, his 2008 season (the 2nd half of it was very, very good), but last year he wasn't dominant and then he got hurt and barley played for the final 5 games--now he's out with a foot sprain. Weird how Brett Favre plays with a broken ankle in Minnesota and our #1 RB skips the game and misses the flight due to a "foot sprain".

I have no clue why we didn't trade him before the deadline, everyone see's what Stewart can do when he gets the full share to himself and it probably helps having all the carries getting into a groove.

In my opinion DeAngelo is not only soft he's close to be very over-rated in my estimation. He's not a top-tier #1 RB, he's had a lot more bad games (ie costing us the game vs. New Olreans) than good games.

Your 1-5 and backing up a RB who has done absolutely nothing this season, nothing noteworthy of production or reason for signing him beyond this season.

Huge gains? Like what? Explain, 39 yarder against New Orleans in a game we lost? This team is 1-5. Stewart doesn't having a rushing TD this season, your clearly living in the past and on these message boards way too often. No the 1-5 record doesn't complete fall on Williams, maybe not entirely but from watching the New Orleans game I would have to say he's certainly not part of the solution when he tries to cut back 4 yards and loses the game in the process.

Potential doesn't equal production gentlemen. No one has yet to come forth and give clear and presentable evidence that D'Angelo Williams is worth keeping beyond this year. He's soft and he hasn't been productive. But nothing that I say is going to change your mind but the numbers don't lie.
