Yes, in the current scheme, we have the 2nd best record in the conference and will end up with what is equivalent to the 4th seed playing the 1 seed Capitals in 2nd round.

Looks even worse when you compare leaguewide standings to the bracket...

Dallas, as the #3 overall seed faces a top 10 team first round. Meanwhile, there is a scenario where Washington can lift the cup without ever facing a top 10 team.

Habs tied for 17th at present. will be interesting to see how it all shakes out end of season with the teams still fighting for the wild card.

Are some of the playoffs still on the local networks like fanduel or are they all nationally televised?  At some point I know its on national TV, but I'm not sure if that's the first round.

1st round will still be on FanDuel.  2nd round and beyond will be national networks.
