Buckner = Garbage

Can one of you forum vets tell me how to go through the motions of a off-season on the trainwreak known as Carolina Huddle. Should I be all jacked up on anti-depressents right now?

Personally I just laugh at it all, everything is never as bad or as great as everyone makes it out to be, you would think we are Detroit with how everyone has been acting, but personally I'm not going to be concerned about the team one bit until the Playoffs start, and here's way believe it or not but the Panthers are starting to turn into a running game version of the Colts, instead of worrying about defense we are just going to straight up out score people next season(thought you'd never see the day under Fox), and just hope the Defense can stop the other team 2 or 3 times and maybe keep them out of the endzone a few times too.

Now this will win a lot of games and don't be surprised to see that happen next season, but as the saying goes, offense wins games but Defense wins championships, and we wont win one until we can get the defense going again.

I like Buck, and I think he calls it like he sees it. Are you going to tell me that Peppers never took a play off, or that he brought his A game constantly? You don't like what Buck's saying, so you're attacking the messenger. The message is spot-on though.

Every Peppers thread includes some kind of ninja Jenkins reference too, like we let a valuable locker room leader slip away from us or something. Jenkins' departure is not only vastly overrated by our fanbase, but it was also clearly a calculated move by the FO. I don't get the adoration for him. He was an above average tackle but 2003 Jenkins was long gone by 2007. The dude made it extremely clear during his last two seasons here that he didn't give a sh*t about the city, the fans, or the organization.

Buckner did, indeed, play for the Steelers, and as Pittsburgh is about to play for the big ring, I think his jersey selection was more a matter of cheering on his former team in the Super Bowl. As to his take on the Peppers situation, I don't think any of us were in the huddles with Pep and Buck, so none of us can say for sure what kind of heart Julius has. And I do recall Buckner saying emphatically that the opinions of Peppers he was espousing were his only, and in no way those of any organization or person other than himself. That said, though, Buckner retired after a long career of being one of the best in the business at what he did. If we are to take the opinions of anyone else on sports radio seriously, then mustn't we also give a degree of weight to what a man who actually played with Peppers while in a Panthers uniform has to say?
