Hate to Bring it up...

It is good, though I am curious to see how he does out of the wildcat and when he gets the ball in space.

I think we'll see him later in the year. For now, I wouldn't be astonished if we ended up with more than our usual number of WRs active, especially if one or more are primarily going to be used on special teams. I think 4 is what we'll go with, and have Clowney, Thomas, and AE all coming in at different times.

It's only a nice problem to have if last week wasn't just an anomaly. I like to believe that he is, but yeah. If the rookies prove to be more rookie-like than #2-like, we're stuck with a bunch of rookies still learning their positions and a couple of young guys who couldn't make it elsewhere... and Steve Smith. Not the worst position, but not the best either.

Agreed, if they play like they did last week, I just don't see how he can make it on the field. When was the last time the Panthers activated 5 WR's? Karl Hankton when we was the special teams captain? Who do you bench so you can maybe run 4-5 plays a game.

I think you might see it late in the season if we are no longer in contention for anything, because I suspect there will be a desire to see how AE is coming along in games. He may just end up as the #4 though.

Pretty sure Gettis will be active for the rest of the season. If Lafell keeps catching balls, he will be too, so it'll just be that last spot to rotate between them.

If he does end up somewhere else, I hope he does well. He has the mentality and the skillset to be successful at this level of football, not sure why so many people here can't see that because their vision is clouded by hate for the local product that isn't their favorite local product.

When he gets it going, here or somewhere else, it will be a big F.U to all the haters.

Edwards, Gettis and LaFell will all be back next year. There is no way we cut any of them. As mentioned before Hurney made it apparent that the odds were extremely slight that Edwards would contribute as anything other than a special teamer this year. And with next years 2nd rounder invested in him, you better believe they will keep him around to see what they can squeeze out of him.

If Devin Thomas lives up to his first day draft status then we will have Smith, Thomas, Gettis, LaFell and Edwards as our WR corps next season. We have the rest of this season to see if that works out, but honestly I think Thomas is the only one the front office would be willing to let go of as early as next year.

the same fools calling Brandon "LaFail" are the same idiots that can't comprehend Edwards will take time..

Well, they would have to be complete morons if they didn't understand that it would take some time for a div.1a college QB to learn to play WR in the NFL. It's hard enough for big time college WR's to learn to play WR in the NFL, much less a guy who hasn't done it since HS.

    • This guy just a troll always posting about Wilks
    • Depends on what I'm being called a nobody in regards to. If I'm being called a nobody in the world of investment banking, I'm a nobody. I wouldn't be offended and wouldn't need you to be offended on my behalf. The truth is I'm a nobody in the world of investment banking.  There have been 1000's of coaches in the NFL. Steve Wilks was one of many. He's not in the hall of fame. He's not a highly sought after coach on every NFL team's radar. As much as you may not like it, he's JAG as an NFL coach. When people are talking about the greatest HC and coordinators in NFL history, his name isn't going to be brought up. If he hadn't been a coach for the Panthers, you wouldn't even know his name.
    • Hai guyz let's all act like the reason the 49ers record isn't top of the league is because they got rid of wilks, then let's make our 4th thread praising a coach who belongs in the 80s
