Mike Minter Defends Peppers???

Recommended Posts

maybe he could have us all fooled into thinking it wasn't about the money. he knows how much we would have paid for him but what if he thinks some other team will offer more? if we tag him, is free to negotiate with anyone? once he agrees to a contract with who ever, the 2 teams then try to work on compensation? or do we arrange compensation with a team first before he works out a contract?

He wouldn't get the most money from a trade situation because he likely will only speak to the one team we approve of. Either way he would probably get more from us trying to prevent him from going to free agency and would definately get more if he hit free agency. I am probably wrong but the trade scenario seems like it would garner the least money.

I'm not saying Pep wanted Minter to do this, Im just saying that maybe Minter is trying to figure it out too just like we are.

Really my point is this, Peppers doesn't need an excuse made for him because he isn't doing anything wrong.

Being selfish can mean more than just money. IMO Peppers is not or ever was a "team" player. As I said, he has the right to be that way and in that I do not fault him. Just don't ask me to like or respect the guy in the prosess.

Just to add something else. I do disagree with the notion that Peppers was lazy and took a lot of plays off. He tried as much as he possibly could to be the best and make plays.

That is fair.

I much prefer it when people just say that they do not like the guy rather than calling him out for being lazy and never gave his all for us. I can understand why people might not like his personality.

Maybe he does have it figured out and just said it. Minter was always a standup guy throughout his time at Nebraska and when he played for us. He worked hard and was a good leader. He wouldn't lie or sugar coat his words to try and cover up something. Buckner on the other hand...

Minter is right.. I've been sayin it all along. Pep fulfilled his contract and wants to go somewhere else. OMFGZ!!! OH NOEZ!!! Please, the dude can't be crucified cause he hasn't done anything wrong.

agreed..it's honestly a shock to me to see fans of the Carolina Panthers disrespect Pepp the way they are...got me quiet on here. Julius Peppers is the best defensive player that the Carolina Panthers ever had...to the dude that said it before...mmmmmuch reeeeespect!!!

A reasonable and sound judgement on the whole affair coming from a former teammate and a player all fans acknowledge as being a true Panther.

If he understand then why do so many fans not?

Many fans are angry at Peppers because probably like me, it appears he checked out of here two years ago and has been just going through the motions. He did what he needed to do this year to just show the rest of the league he could produce in order to be able to get a deal somewhere else.

better off without him even if he walks as a free agent. if we are lucky enough to get a pick for him we should thank our lucky stars. if we tag him and offer a contract for 17 million pep will fly in to sign it, why the hell not? 17 million in guarenteed $. the other teams know that! it's just OK to let him walk and keep the $ for free agents and the future. SCREW PEP!!!!
