Why is that so surprising? A lot of these "drops" LaFall has had, were way overblown, IMO. I've seen maybe 2-3 that were legitimate drops, the rest were either good plays be the DB or off target and had enough velocity to make them very hard catches. Moose wouldn't have caught some of those passes either.
the issues of drops has been something that has been an issue even through college, not just here. he was never considered a very solid pass catcher. it was more the blocking and what he could do after he got the ball in his hands that was his strengths.

him not having any drops was unusual for him and hopefully something he has overcome.

he went from lafell to lafail and now he's back to lafell again

he did a great job sunday. plus with gettis established as a huge threat with the focus on him and Smith, Lafell might be getting those breaks and have a 100 yard performance this week, and maybe if we can get something good out of this season it would be a receiving game by committee type thing like the giants have right now with Nicks, Smith and Manningham.

agreed. i don't care about star status. i just want a group of capable receivers that can get the job done and tear up defenses that pays too much attention to the run game.

a lot of that also depends on us having an offense that can take full advantage of having three and four receivers on the field.

Yeah, that's the problem. Because of his reputation from college, every pass that comes anywhere near him, that he doesn't catch, is seen as a drop when it really isn't.

My policy is to forget what any of these players did in college, and just judge them based on what they do going forward. Shoot, if it really mattered what they did in college, Jarrett would be a pro bowler instead of an unemployed drunk.

meh, it's really just the weather.

These mild temps right now are helping him out. Once it gets to be cold out his kicks will lose some of their oomph.

The ball needs to be firm but pliable for max distance. extreme heat and cold really affect his range.

He seems to do worse in domes.

Just saying...

it's actually much better than what we've been trying with "Superstar smith and his group of misfits" which has basically been every season we've played with moose not starting at no.2.

Moose is someone whose presence they never were able to replace. it's funny that now that the fox regime is almost out of town, we might have finally found a good core group of wrs. it's even funnier that if it happens, it will have taken only a couple of weeks removed from dwayne jarrett's release.

As much respect as I had for Richard Williamson, I do think it's probably for the best that he retired.

Tolbert's a different type. Way more energetic than Williamson. He's been known to actually go up and run routes to show guys how he wants it done.

Is he the answer? Don't know, but he does deserve credit for progress so far.

Well, all of my insights are based on my experiences kicking footballs, so I guess take them all with a grain of salt, but...

I always had a rough time kicking on field turf. It threw off my "wind up" because it is less giving as grass. My plant foot would never dig in quite the same as on grass and it was an adjustment.

having said that, if I got paid what Lloyd does and it was all I did, I'd be out on some field turf at least 2 days a week adjusting.

All people r saying is smith, lafell, and gettis, what about AE? Or even Wright? U can kiss martin thomas and clowney good by but at sometime AE is gonna have to be made useful to his second round pick status.... Unless we r changing it up and going to a more fan happy spread offense its hard to see us keeping so many wr's on the roster
