What do you know about Lumberton?

People from Lumberton refer to Wilmington as the "Big City". Enough said.

They can't expect you to move across the state for a job. Most people can't leave the area where they are for a job.

this made me laugh.

ive been thru Lumberton just a few times heading to Wilmington and actually went into town maybe twice.

Only whats already been mentioned. Lots of native americans & lots of poverty.

I know someone who is friends with lots of Lumbees from there. She talks a lot about the culture & how many of them have very strong beliefs. She said it took a long time for them to accept & trust her because she was white and an outsider. But once she was accepted, they now consider her a part of the family. She is a social worker and said it's very hard for her to work with the NA population no matter where she is.

Just found out the job is in elizabethtown. thoughts? its not lumberton, and thats a plus already.

Elizabethtown is nicer than Lumberton, but it's still a really small town KK. You would be about an hour from ILM and about 40 minutes from Fayetteville. You may be able to make the commute from where you live now...

thats what the recruiter is thinking I believe. i mapped it with a generic destination of just the city, and it says 40 minutes one way. with the bridge traffic I do that anyway some days. just depends on what time i leave work.

Yeah, that's not a bad drive... 4 lanes to Hwy87 at Delco then 2 lanes to E-town. Should be very little in the way of traffic.
