How do we feel about the Rams?

I feel like if we can keep our turnovers down (Matt not trying so damn hard to make a play out of nothing) and actually connect on some deep passes like we did against the 49ers, we should hopefully win if not keep it close.

I feel if we can connect the way he did last week our running game will improve. No not because Otah is back in, or Garry Williams in the best thing since Chuck Norris. But because the other team's defense will finally have to respect the passing game and not stack 8-9 guys in the box. It will give Matt more time to throw/routes more time to develop, and those PA pass and draws will finally work. If our defense stays firm like they have been we shouldn't see a big issue. I see their offense being very similiar to the 49ers in the fact that they want to throw the ball but have a excellent running back in the back field they can use on 3rd and 5, which scares me at times.

Your offensive staff would be stupid if they chose not to take shots over top. While our man corners have been very good, Bartell has a deep thigh bruise and got a stinger/should injury against Tampa. Fletcher aggravated a hamstring against Tampa also ...

Anyway, I am a happy Rams fan, glad to be here. Please ask any questions about our team. I will answer them very honestly, I'm not a trash talking type ....

I think we will be able to run the ball better vs the Rams. We could/should stack the box vs Jackson and press those WR's.

DeAngelo Williams, one of the better cutback runners in the league, could kill us on trey plays. We have not been good at containing misdirection ...

We don't give up many big runs (20+), but we seem to get gashed by 5-15 yard runs in spurts ....

If the Panthers can pass protect, they will definitely take some shots. As much as us Panther fans complain about the coaching staff being conservative, this offense has more of a vertical passing attack than the shorter WCO type, but it also depends on running the ball to set up the PA plays. We actually beat the 49ers though, despite not being able to run, so go figure.

Anyway, the question for us is always, can we stop the run and can we run successfully? We haven't done a very good job of either one so far, but our overall defense has been pretty good.

I wouldn't even attempt to predict this game, to be honest with you. I know next to nothing about the 2010 Rams.

I do not expect Bradford to have a very productive game against your backfield. With that said, we do not throw the ball down field often. I am sure we'll play it safe and try to be run heavy. Bradford has one of the lowest YPA's and DPaC's in the league. Bradford was subpar against Tampa, but he is unbelievably poised for a rookie ....

By a grinder of a game, I meant low scoring and slow paced. Just wanted to clarify ...

Good assessment. If you watch his games they have completely tailored thier WCO around him. It's 40 short passes a game and a lot of running. Basically what the Panthers should have been doing after the first game of the year.

Did anyone else here watch the TB game???

Bradford is a good rookie quarterback but he is playing like a rookie. Unlike in Carolina, he is not playing with green receivers even if they aren't superstars. Moore's game on Sunday was better than anything I have seen from Bradford this year and I've seen every game.

If I was the Rams, I would run the regular offense and just dink and dunk us to death...that's what everybody else does. We have a pretty good pass defense, but they will give up the underneath stuff all day long.

As far as running the ball, for some reason the Panthers give up rushing yardage in big chunks on the opponents first posession or two. After the first quarter, they have been a little bit better, but still not great by any stretch.

To say Bradford is playing like a rookie is not a really fair assessment. Rookies look confused, and make poor decisions, and get rattled when pressured. Jimmy Claussen looked like a raw rookie when in there, and I doubt anyone would dispute that ...

I've yet to see Bradford look confused. The Tampa-2 caused some problems for him last week, but he neve looked stumped. He is having some problems with accuracy, but on easier throws. He is one of the worst passers in the league on 3rd and less than 6, one of the best on 3rd and more than 6. When he quits overanalyzing the situations, this will change ...

Bradford has been sacked 15 times, but 4 of those have been the result of him running out of bounds for a loss. 2 more were the result of him not throwing it away on a rollout. These do classify as poor decisions, but generally he is sound ...

Bradford has 8 INTs, but in 260 attempts, for an INT rate of 3.0% or so. This is good for veteran quarterbacks, nonetheless rookies. He has more TD's than INTs ....

Bradford is poised well beyond his years. He does not have the gaudy numbers, but he has not been the root cause of any of our losses. With that said, he's made some plays, particularly some TD passes, that make him look like a seasoned vet ....

He's doing all this without his top two receivers, a rookie LT, and essentially a rookie RT ...

We shouldn't be taking anyone for granted at this point...

We shouldn't take anyone for granted ever. I can't stand to listen to WFNZ anymore becuase those idiots get so hyper and start bragging about how we should beat teams with a losing record. Everybody should know that it just doesn't work that way. I don't care what the records are or what the stats are, there are no easy wins in this league, period.

Despite the record and stats, I honestly think we have an advantage in just about every category(except perhaps O-line) including QB and running back so long as D. Williams is healthy. Receivers are pretty much a wash since we cannot expect our rookies to definitely repeat the performance from last week. They might show up they might not.

The main thing I'm worried about is the win we just had. It seems to have been a very emotional win for our team and a lot of times that can drain a team to where they play sluggish their following game. I hope that this isn't the case.

If we show up as a team, I see us with a good chance at getting a #2. It's a bit of an increase in challenge compared to the 49ers and us being on the road, but as far as gradually improving it is the perfect opponent for this team to play against after their first win this season.

So to answer the question, I feel pretty good about this game.

Not hardly ....

I would say there are zero teams in the NFL that are taking Matt Moore over Sam Bradford ...

RB is a wash, as are WR ...

We have advantage at O-line ...

We have a significant advantage at D-line ...

Carolina has the advantage at LB ...

You have a slight advantage at DB ...

ST's are a wash ...

The only way you have a "good chance" to beat us at home is if we play a very uninspired game ...

We are giving up 12.8 PPG at home, and only one opponent, an away game, scored more than 18 against us ..

Why would you think you'd have a good chance, averaging 12.6 PPG, playing on the road, with a shaky QB and O-Line?

We are 3 plays away from being 6-1 ....

Why not?

Why are you confident in the Rams winning? After all the superior defenses the panthers have had to play against this season, the Rams are actually a breath of fresh air, imo. Not really an insult to the Rams defense but, come on. Saints are top 5 in defense, Giants are either #1 or #2 in defense, Niners had a top 10 D before the game, Bears have a top 5 defense. The Bucs are a rival, so they always play us hard.

Rams are 15th overall in defense. 18th against the pass. Are you sure that the spark that ignited against the Niners (Moore and the rookie Wrs) can't travel west?

I'm not predicting anything one way or the other, but anything can happen. Our offense has as much a chance to burn your defense as your defense has to stifle our offense.
