Best Horror Genre Movies

Maybe we should add a "Best Haunted House Movie" category (or would that fall under "Best Ghost Movie").

I guess The Shining would be my favorite of that genre. I'll have to think about the others; many of you guys have named my favorites as well.

I kinda put "ghost" and "haunted house" in the same category I guess.

If you put "haunted house" as a separate category, I'd probably go with "The Haunting" (the original, not the crappy remake; that was awful).

Best Serial Killer Movie: I'd go with the Saw franchise here... He doesn't fit the general archetype here, but that sums up what he does...

another genre:

Best WTF? Horror Movie: Hellraiser

I count "Hellraiser" as a demon movie.

I have a difficult time deciding what genre "Saw" belongs in. Most would probably call it "torture porn" and for some of the sequels they might have a point. Not the original, though.

I'm a fan of classic horror, so my list will be a bit different than most:

- Best Vampire Movie Dracula (Lugosi version 1933)

- Best Werewolf Movie Teen Wolf

- Best Zombie Movie Night of the Living Dead (the original) Zombieland was great too!

- Best Ghost Movie The Others

- Best Slasher Movie Friday the 13th Part II (part IV is a close second)

- Best Evil Child (or Children) Movie Children of the Corn (I don't know much in this category

Edit: Added

- Best Demon Movie

- Best Monster Movie Frankenstein (Karloff version)

- Best Serial Killer Movie Friday the 13th (all of them)
