Comparing Gettis to the Wide receivers taken in the first two rounds of the draft.

Round 1. pick: Dez Bryant

18 rec. 211yds. Avg. 11.7 1TD

The Cowboys give up their 3rd round pick to trade up from 27 to 24. In addition to New England's 24th overall pick, Dallas also received New England's 4th round pick.

Round 1. (22 overall) pick: Demaryius Thomas

15 rec. 184yds. Avg. 12.3 2TD

Round 2. (60th overall) pick: Golden taint... I mean Tate

8rec. 115yds Avg.14.4 0 TD

Round 2. (39th overall) pick: Arrelious Benn

7rec. 76yds. Avg.10.9 0 TD

compared to

David Gettis

18rec. 244yds Avg. 13.6 2TD

Selected by Carolina in the sixth round (198th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft

If he (Gettis) stays on this productive track will this even out the AE trade?

Bryant is behind two good WRs. Gettis is behind 1. Me thinks if Dez was their #2 his stats would be better.

hasn't gettis only had 3 starts? and doesn't Dez have one game on Gettis (bye week?)? i wanted to put each players starts or snaps, but i didn't think about it until after i submitted the thread. so in anyone has that info it would be appreciated.

I don't see why we're expecting immediate results from a D2 QB transitioning to NFL wide receiver. AE may not play until week 15 or so.

No i'm not expecting AE to do anything this year. I was just saying Dallas gave up a pick for a Wr too, and our sixth round pick has produced better numbers so far. so does that take any sting off the AE selection?

AE trade was a trade that didn't need to happen. I think it was really dumb to trade up for a project that might not be here under a new regime. That was Hurney blunder.

Gettis had a great game. Kerry Colbert had some great games as a rookie as well. That being said, Gettis doesn't look like a Kerry Colbert. He seems to have that fire inside.

Nothing is even yet IMO.

Gettis is god. For those who say Keary had great games too...well yeah, he did, but when Gettis dropped that 4th down td pass, he didn't smile and jovially skip back to the sideline, he got hungry for redemption. That's why he's already leaps and bounds above that disgrace to Panther Football, Keary F*cling Colbert.

    • Teams do some super stupid stuff with mid-fairly good QBs. I think they are just absolutely terrified they will be stuck with a QB that is not the quality of the QB they have now, even if its someone like Daniel Jones. Lots of trash QBs go in the first round. I encourage you to take a look at the sad, sad list of first round QBs in the last 15 years.
    • No, it will be a raw 6'7" 17-year-old European who just played basketball for the first time in March and who the idiot GM "had first on our board." He'll play the whole G-League season, get in 42 games for the Hornets and average 1.1 ppg on 35% shooting. Been there, seen that.
    • We missed on Burns at his peak value. That’s the problem with trading for picks 2-3 years away (which people were convinced the Rams would suck by now and these would be higher picks btw). Each year away the pick is the further in value it drops. Fitt was clearly hired based on turning us around quickly. It’s one of the many reasons tanking isn’t really a thing as our player JJ is telling you in this original article. It would take the whole organization from the owners down admitting they aren’t winning soon with Burns and picks 2-3 years away having more value because that’s when we are still rebuilding. It would only make sense if Fitt had a longer leash and would more than likely be the ones making these picks anyway which you wouldn’t want. The question is would you rather have those Rams picks with the strong possibility of Fitt still being here or would you rather Fitt try to “win now” like he did and expedite his firing? Altering the timeline would affect more than just the Rams picks.
