But seriously, I'm not really buying that we're playoff contenders b/c we finally had some semblance of an offense and won a game against another struggling team that came into the game with a 1-5 record. As I said in the other thread, I'll need to see this kind of performance (honestly, a better performance) for a sustained period of time - at least a couple of weeks in a row before I think this team is even capable of 5 wins total.

That being said, I don't wanna dig it back up right now, but Zod after the first couple of games didn't you post a "why are you surprised?" thread? I can't remember but I know someone said they expected an at best 7-9 record, but you talked of how young and inexperienced the team was and therefore expected the struggle. I think I was on the "7-9" boat myself before, but if you were as well, my question is - with the current state of the NFC, you don't think it's possible that if we made a moderate run and finished 8-8 that we would make the playoffs?

I'm not saying that's probable, but I think it's a realistic possibility if we see the team from yesterday (minus the turnovers) in the weeks to come.

I don't think 8-8 will make the playoffs... look at the league. People may just be one game above .500, but a lot of them are just one game above .500. They won't all drop more than they win from here on out.

I think we need to go 10-6 to make the playoffs, and... I just don't think that is possible. Even if Moore plays like he did on Sunday, someone is just going to outscore us...

well, I'm just happy if we are competitive in the remaining games. If we are out - well, so be it - but just let the games be somewhat interesting and competitive. Let our young roster get some valuable playing time and go into the off season with at least some pride that they gave it a shot.
