Pro-Bowl voting has begun

For those of you arguing that Pro Bowl selections will make contract negotiations more costly...

The only guys we have that have been to the Pro Bowl or have a chance to make one are going to get fat contracts regardless. The Panthers have always paid their core players well, and that isn't going to change any time soon.

Williams, Gross, Kalil, Otah, Beason, Anderson, Godfrey, Gamble, Smith, Kasay. Any of those guys that need a new contract soon are GON' GET DAT MONEY. The only possible exception being Williams in the off-chance that we let him go and pay Stewart.

That said, I doubt any Panthers make it this year. Beason isn't putting up the numbers to do it. Our O-linemen have underachieved. Godfrey would have had a chance if he continued to lead the league in interceptions, but after Hall's freak performance yesterday that isn't happening. Our RB's are underachieving. Smith has been hurt.

Best chance to make the Pro Bowl right now is James Anderson, and only if he keeps lighting it up and leading the league in tackles. Some sacks and interceptions will help his case.

i have heard and seen comments from GMs and front offices that talk about the day they hate most is when pro-bowlers are announced because without fail those announcements are followed by calls from agents wanting to talk more money for their Probowl client.

I'm gonna have to hear a little of your supporting evidence as to how Baker (9th gross, and 11th net avg in the NFC) is more deserving than all those ahead of him.

thats not the big reason lol, if one punter doesn't matter who got the ball on there 20 they can just bomb it every time, it's really about punting it inside the 15.

OK, then tied for 8th in that category (with 2 others in the NFC), with about 1/2 the amount of inside 20 as Donnie Jones.

DON'T vote for a single panther (that is, if you think that a 1-5 team should be rewarded with probowlers).

it will be better for salary negotiations if they can't say, "well, i'm a probowler, pay me like one".

also, it will help get them feeling pissed and disrespected going into next year. that isn't a bad thing.

also, it puts them unnecessarily at risk for injury for a meaningless game.

Did you think about the fact that it would also ENCOURAGE players to leave for a team with a bigger market/better fanbase... Why play your a** off to not ONLY not get a ring...but not even be recognized for your individual efforts...IDK just my .02

*It could also work the other way like with J.Peppers, you make it and then feel above the team like you deserve more/better
