the reason that moore homers get such a bad wrap is 1) they are obsessed with moore, not the team, 2) are too similar to twilight fans fighting over whose team they are on (thankfully i blocked out enough of the movies that my wife made me go see that i can't remember the names of the meatheads in it), 3) they just start too many threads saying the same thing...."moore is the GREATEST!" or "Clausen is teh SUCK!"

1) You are assuming they are not obsessed with the team. Moore is a better QB and nothing wrong with wanting a better QB to be starting.

2) This argument goes both ways and is similar to reason 1.

3) Maybe some but others have legit discussion and even like some of the Clausen homers because we respect the discussion.

the thing is, people were saying that clausen could be good but it was always met with moore homers and clausen haters as being anti-moore or clausen nuthugging. the dissing of moore was based on his performance this year (which he very much deserved).

am i happy we had a decent passing game yesterday? yep. sure beat what we've been seeing for a long time. however...it's just one game and until i see more of the same i'm not a believer.

Sorry but you have the two backwards. Most Moore fans, including myself, are basing it on performance. Most Clausen fans are basing it on college, high school, name, hype and hopes which everyone knows doesn't always translate to NFL. Moore starting was and continues to be the best option FOR the team. Clausen starting was and continues to be the best option for Clausen and his fans...and even that's debatable. Maybe just his overzealous fans who didn't care to understand starting him now could hurt him. Most Clausen fans acted like this team was the Carolina Clausen for the past 2 months, not the Panthers.

But Matt Moore played 11 games as a starter with this team. He has won 7 of them. And 9 of those 11 features good to great QB play.

There is nothing obsessive about saying a good playing QB is a good playing QB. Matt is what he is: A GOOD Panthers starting QB. You say you will believe it when you see more of it? We have already seen it. You don't have that attitude about Clausen, even though he hasn't shown anything at this level, and a lot LESS than Matt Moore has shown. But you were very supportive of Clausen.

If Matt played 9 bad games and had 2 good ones, I would understand some of the hate he's been getting. Some of the doubting. But that's not the case.

Moore is nothing like DA. Compare stats not just your impression that they can not win meaningful games. Moore has won them, only two games were meaningless. This season is far from meaningless.....

Matt Moore has not won a meaningful game. If anything he looked horrible in the first two this season. Plus he even admitted the fact he was nervouse and felt the pressure those games this season. THOSE were the meaningful ones this season. Yesterday games when the team is 0-5, the pressure is definately not the same. With the way the season and QB play has been it could not have gotten any worse. Moore had nothing to lose. The same as the end of last season.

I am not saying Moore is not the answer, but there is no way I am thinking he is our QB of the future. The jury is definately still out on that one.

Moore said he felt that pressure could have impacted how badly he played in the first 2 games. He said he was given freedom to just sling it around in the fourth, if he was under pressure like he was when we were 0-1 and behind 20-7 to Tampa I highly doubt the results would've been the same.

Couldn't disagree more. You are saying he felt no pressure last year playing for his NFL career? He plays like poop in those games he is likely done in the NFL. What if your career depended on week to week performance? Would you feel there is no pressure?

In no way, shape, or form were the Seattle, Dallas, second Tampa, NE, Minn, and NY games meaningless. Moore was playing for a job, other teams for playoff position and the playoffs in general. Two times starters sat out, that's it. This year he played in two meaningful games and played two bad games. Played in another meaningful one this Sunday and played great. How is there no pressure on him this past weekend? Getting benched then getting the job back in a contract year means no pressure? The team doesn't feel the way you do. This season is not over. Only terrible fans think the season is over.

Get a clue.
