Fox/Richardson rumor

Brooklyn Bully

Recommended Posts

Internet rumors are about as trustworthy as someone offering to buy your car who lives in Nigeria. Rumors outside of the Internet, while still not that trustworthy, usually have some underlying truth to them somewhere. Right? Right.

So today as I was driving back from the game and had the post game show with Mack on, he said that there are rumblings going around about how Fox and JR don't see eye to eye. I buy that, as we've said it on here ourselves.

But Mack said that these rumblings state that the two men aren't even on speaking terms. This is the first I've heard that. Today may have softened that tension, and it's probably not true to begin with, but if it is, wow! I don't know who that says more about and opens up a nice can of worms...seeing as how we looked totally different today.

Well you had Fox saying after we traded Harris it was a buget move. That was a shot at JR and you know he didn't like that. Then Fox was pushing blame off him about the roster last week. I can see them not talking after that comment. You know Jerry likes people that fall on bombs for him.

Doesn't surprise me at all. I bet Fox feels he has been hung out to dry. First Richardson doesn't extend him and then cuts all the veterans and leadership on the team. By going on an austerity budget he doesn't bring in any free agents and dumps guys like Harris, Hoover, and others to save a few bucks. I am sure he has disagreed with most everything JR has done and has told him.

JR for his part must feel like this is his team and he can do what he wants. He is paying Fox 6 million and likely figure he is paying him to do what he can with the players he is given.

I would be surprised if they are talking at all right now.

I didn't see it or hear it (was in the concourse) but my son said, where people usually cheer JR in his suite, he was booed today. That probably will hit him harder than any emails with complaints that he gets. Gotta say, he's always cared how the fan viewed him.

I definitely believe it, Fox has said more anti-front office stuff than he ever has before. Well, he pretty much never said anything like that before, so that should speak for itself. The way he has acted during games has been more animated than I ever remember.

I think without being outright disrespectful, he's trying to let the media/fans know that he really does care and it's not just a lame duck season for him... He wants to win. I've been pretty hard on him, but outside of the game, I like to think of him as a good guy and from all accounts he is. We've had members that have played laser tag or paintball with him and attended church with him and so forth, and all interactions with him suggest he's a great guy.

Overall, I think he's a good coach as well, he just has a few weaknesses that have wore the patience of a lot of the fan base.

Anyway, I think another thing that lends to this rumor, is during the game today the announcers said that Fox told them or the team (I can't remember), that he never finished below 7-9 and he's not going to do it this year either... He wants to win. So, if you hear that, if you saw his post game interview, and then see what the FO's approach has been this off-season, you can see how he would feel betrayed knowing that he's not going to be coming back next year. And don't forget, he was basically told, 'you can come back if you want, but we don't really want you and won't keep you around, but you can come back...'

Fox could have left this offseason. Dont know why he didnt but Richardson did give him a option too.

Fox probably didn't receive an offer from another team he was looking for.

Staying may have been his only option. Six million in salary can make a tough job situation at least bearable.

Funny. They showed him on camera for like 1/2 second in between other shots. I booed him and a few others did too but they panned away so fast it didn't gain traction.

They usually show him much longer
