Coaches respect thread

Unlike all the other people who are proclaiming that Moore, Gettis and Lafell are the next best thing since sliced bread, I am finally glad to see that Fox and company finally got it together and coached a decent game. They kept extra protection back for Moore, kept defenses honest with runs and dump off passes underneath (or to the sidelines), and kept the defense off balance by believing in their guys, opening up the play book a little bit, and letting them play (for the most part).

Now, some have suggested that everyone who has been critical of the coaches seemingly nonchalant, going-through-the-motions attitude were crazy to have believed such a thing. I am not going to go that far because I feel that everyone gets tired, suffers from mental depression, and a general malaise when losing on a consistent basis. Basically, sometimes people need a kick in the ass. But, suffice it to say, our coaches did a great job at getting the guys prepared, game planning, and actual play calling.

Hope we keep it up!

BTW, the one criticism that I have is that they did not call the RBs' numbers in the passing game enough for my liking. I only remember one play where D-Will's number was actually called during a pass. The other may have been on the interception (that shouuld never have happened).

I will absolutely not give the coaches any respect.

We have already lost 5 games this season and now we decide to "open up the playbook"? Why did this not happen earlier?

Thank god Fox and company are out of here after this year, maybe we will finally see the Panthers join the 21st century.

Interesting what the announcers said earlier today during the game. That they spoke to John Fox and he said "He won't have a losing record that he won't have anything less than 7-9 season" It was along the lines of that I can't remember the exact statement but I thought it was interesting. I saw some good things and some bad today but glad we got a win finally.

Coaching staff will be gone at season's end.. respect that.

Exactly, it shouldn't take 5 straight losses to realize "hey I better start doing something".

Sorry but 7-9 is crap and will always be crap for teams with any sort of respectability.

Fox definitely played this game to win instead of his usual play not to lose self, but too little too late really, welcome = worn out.

There were actualy 11 passses targeted to running backs according to the stat sheet. 6 to d williams of which he caught 4 for 19 yards, 3 to J stewart of which he caught 0 and one was a pick 6 and 2 to goodson of which he caught 1 for -5 yards.

fiametta also got 1 target.

actually i agree with you. we had 3 turnovers but fox and co made adjustments to make the team better as the game went on to make sure we didn't end up being our own worst enemy like we have for the first 5 games.

i had mad respect for fox after seeing him go ballistic on that no call tom brady hit on moore. should have been called. and everyone knew it. watching moore's leg bend that way made me cringe. fox didn't clap his hands and chew his gum, he got in the ref's face and let him know what was what.
