Thread for the people who stuck by Matt Moore

The protection was better Mack B was getting beat alot in pass protection up the middle messing with both QB. Moore did play very good today but it wasn't all him. The Wr caught balls smith was back and the oline did very good pass blocking. Plus def. saved alot of mistakes from being worst. This was a full team effort.

OF course any win is a team effort as is a team loss. But the biggest change today was the QB play which contributed to everything else. For the first game all year we won the time of possession battle. Why? The offense was much better today. The running game was crap but the better passing game kept the chains moving and kept the defense off the field. The oline play based on run and screen blocking was poor. But Moore was able to find receivers, move in the pocket, scramble and otherwise make enough plays to move the offense.

THe defense was decent although we gave up a few big plays in the run game. Plus the pass defense was spotty and pressure on the quarterback while Smith was in there was nonexistent. On Carr it was totally different. Why did we look better? Again their quarterback play.

Seriously, you think the protection was magically better today and that Moore's play had nothing to do with it. SF has more sacks than Chicago, New Orleans and Cincinatti even accounting for the diffrence in games. There was a lot of pressure on Moore today but he hung in there, found his receivers and threw the ball away when he needed to (except for the pick). There was better protection due to the better quarterback play, they work had in hand. When they blitzed for the most part Moore made them pay.

Could you find the place where I said Moore had nothing to do with it??

I never said that. It was a team effort Oline and Moore played better..

It doesn't change. All of you Moore haters hand out praise to him as sparsely as you can. Lets not give him much credit because it makes us look bad after criticizing him for weeks. Truth is that Moore was excellent today. Not good but great with the exception of a stupid pick 6 to the lineman. Otherwise his rating is 120. He singlehandely revived the passing game and carried the offense on his shoulders. Plain and simple. He didn't play better, he played great.

He might not play that well for another game all year and he could suck from here on out but for one game today he was great. Just admit it. MAV1234 admitted it, so could you. Try it, it isn't as bad as you think it will be.

Also..

Nobody knows who is going to be the future qb of this franchise.

If matt plays as well as he has the majority of his starting career, he could easily be signed to an extension, as no new coach is going to want to go with clausen learning a new system in his 2nd year in the pros.

The future isn't what this season is about...stop mailing in the season cause you as a fan already gave up.

No I'm being realistic. I hope Matt can get us 11 wins in a row but I know that's alot 2 ask. Matt would have 2 keep putting up elite QB # 2 get a contract from a new coach. Most coaches like 2 bring in players that already know the system they are going 2 run. It maybe a little much 2 ask for them 2 turn it around that much in 1 season.

who is Moore hater?

Go back and read my post.the day Moore was named the starter I said "moore should light it up he always plays good with no presure on him" How is that hating?

The Oline and Moore played better. Why is that so hard for you to admit?

P55 you're starting 2 be a asshole.

You act like if people don't slurp Matt we are wrong.

Matt Had a very good game But alot of things happen in the panthers favor that weren't happening early this year. For Matt or Jimmy.

Oline pass blocking better

Young WR taking advantge of single coverage and catching the ball

Def. not letting the turnovers by smith and Dwill hurt us.

Knocking out the Alex Smith so David Carr can handcuff their offense.

John Kasey still being a G with a big leg

No specialteam Mistakes.

Matt did great but we did have alot of things go our way.

He didn't singlehandedly revive the offense, he still scares me like Jake when he drops back to pass but I'll be damned if he didn't somehow drive them back. Still...I think people aren't giving Gettis his due.

Perhaps you missed the title of this thread, and if anyone can attest to the fact you shouldn't be posting in this thread, I can.

And if you read the forum and not continue to live in lala land, you will notice that Gettis is getting plenty of props for his playing today.

But we know.....in the end it was Clausen's bench-warming abilities and cheering from the sidelines that made the difference, right?

I mean, I forgot I mentioned Clausen in anything. I also forgot you were the end-all authority of who decides to post in your threads. If anyone has lived in "lala" land, it's you with your "I wouldn't go so far as to say I love" Matt Moore. You are an awfully talented hypocrite.

WHo the hell was threading the pass to Gettis and giving him a catchable ball. Wasn't Gettis the guy who dropped a TD pass from Moore that hit him right in the hands. Moore made Gettis look today not the other way around.

I don't think Moore did it alone, I think it was a team effort, but he sure was great... and so was Gettis imo. Gettis made some nice plays, including taking a ball away from a DB for a first down.

If he sucks for the rest of the season, nobody can take away how well he played today. I just hope he plays this well for the rest of the season.

No man, Moore did it all. He made the tackles, called the plays, put on #4 and kicked the FG too! Read what PFFL said earlier, he decides who deserves to post in this thread, apparently threads in this forum have now become like 5-year-olds' clubhouses.

    • So this has been one of my biggest concerns with Canales and it's the downside of having some young offensive guy who doesn't have full staff control. like what is the org chart for this decision?  With canales, who does he know or has worked with that he can tap? He hasn't been in Seattle in 2 seasons and all those guys are gone anyway. He wasn't even that high up on the org chart in Seattle so it's unclear who he would have regularly interacted with. QB coaches generally aren't going to be in the split squad meetings, at least not regularly. Just glancing at the coaching staff, Clint Hurt jumps out. He was DC in 2022 and is currently the dline coach in Philadelphia, but that team is the brainchild of roseman and i'd be very hesitant to bring in someone who was allowed to walk from seattle and would be having a SUBSTANTIAL decline in talent here in Carolina. With Tampa, that defense is a shambles and fans want Bowles out. It's a very top heavy coaching staff too; Bowles is very involved so there isn't some bright up and comer, from what Bucs fans elsewhere have said. Someone from the Bills maybe? Morgan was last there in 2020. Who could he call? No one established is going to take that position for a few reasons. There very little talent on that side of the ball, so you're not getting the rockstar mercenaries to come here. They're probably going to struggle to bring in some hot up and comer, since anyone with ambition is going to see how Tepper handled evero's request to interview for other positions and not want to deal with that. That's a problem the team has created on its own and I don't know how to fix it until they have someone leave for a promotion, which is going to be difficult with how dogshit this franchise is. And then, any agent is going to tell their client that the Panthers let the whole defense eat poo heading into 2023 just to "give bryce weapons." they let two starters walk and traded away a third. who would want to come in to this? how are you going to build/retain talent? There's only a few logical possibilities from my perspective 1. Someone out of nowhere who just crushes their interview 2. Someone from a good defense promoted WAY earlier than they should be and you just hope for the best 3. Extend Evero. I know a lot of people hate this but I think it's going to be the best option. This is the problem with Canales as coach. I don't want to go into what I think about the offense in this post, today or as it projects, but it's just not going to be easy for him to assemble a staff, if he even has the power to do so. For all we know Morgan is handling all defensive positions and hires. unclear org charts are a hallmark sign of a poorly run organization. I dunno. i think it's lowkey the biggest problem on the team, even moreso than the QB position.
