how?

working or not, you never take your threat out of the game.

a heavy run game is what made moore successful last season, a heavy run game is what clausen needs.

like it or not, it's foxball.

How?

Well for starters those run plays get us nowhere. It's just wasting plays and puts us in constant 3rd and longs. Luckily Moore is good at 3rd down conversions. Forget about setting up the pass with the run. Some short passes would be more effective. When the offensive line starts to push people around then I'm all for fox ball.

Something is odd with Stewart. He looks really slow and lacks some power. It's not all the Oline. He runs straight to defenders and gives up. I wonder if he has some nagging injury (surprise).

Our pass blocking was awesome this game, but we need to work on the run still.

the ball moved downfield because of the passing game, not the run game. run game still isn't working. rushing game sucked. 2.2 yards per carry isn't anything to be excited about.

also, how many total offensive plays did we have? it was a whole lot more than we usually have. we ran the ball about 45% of the time which is exactly what we have been doing all year, nothing changed.

run game is still getting stuffed. it just isn't working.

But you still have to run, without the run attempts it becomes pass rush city. I agree, the run game wasn't great, but the balance is necessary.

    • Some of you who are not sold on Canales are insane. His main purpose was to turn around Bryce Young’s career and he did that. Of all of the teams in the top 10 of the NFL draft, we were the team that was consistently showing the most fight week in and week out. Our players never quit on the season. The offense which he is responsible for took a huge step forward compared to last year, despite the lack of skill talent  that we have. It was our defense that was a mess. That’s one of my critiques on Canales. He should’ve gotten rid of Evero and hired his own DC that shares the same vision. But as a whole, I can’t see how people are not pleased with what Canales did with this team. I’d give him an 9/10
    • One of the first thoughts after the game yesterday was that JT was going to jump all over it. He's been more favorable about BY from the beginning, and so yesterday must've felt like Christmas.
    • Maybe, but they were always going to be an impossible team to accurately mocked right now. They have an absurd amount of cap room, what they need right now will not be what they need come draft day.  They can make multiple big splash signings and even make trades for players who need new contracts and their teams don't want to give it to them. OT and WR might be their two biggest needs right now, but it wouldn't be unreasonable to think they could go into the draft needing neither of them.  I think a LT will be their top FA priority, also think they're going to make a big offer to Higgins, and I could see them being a team in the running to trade for someone like DK Metcalf as they need a WR like him and they have the cap space to give him a big new contract.
