I thought the playcalling was ok. But then I think that playcalling in general gets to much attention when a team is bad. Changing the playcalling isn't going to help a team as young as ours.

San Francisco's playcalling was getting rave reviews by the announcers today, and yet they only scored 13 offensive points. And thats because they didn't execute well.

The team executed better today than it has at any point in the season, but even so, execution was hit and miss. Two fumbles, a terrible interception, a critical dropped td pass, and very poor blocking on run plays hurt us more than the playcalling.

Alright then so you bringing up what I said at the end of last season means just as much as your grammar and comprehension skills.

You losing it with bringing up my grammar & comprehension skills, which I expect from someone who still haven't learned to grow up with this kind of childish behavior. Nice to see you been using Microsoft Word to make your typing look perfect & using it to point out my flaws. Typical of you, fair fan.

The execution was the best it's been all season and we see the results. I still think the playcalling is horrible. We definitely did a better job of being less predictable in terms of whether we would pass or run depending on the down and distance. That may have been the first game that I actually didn't know what was coming before the snap.

But, the playcalling was ridiculous as usual... The screens are useless and we may have only executed one correctly for a big gain, scratch that, I gain of over 5 yards in our entire existence as a franchise.

Yet we kept doing it.

Secondly, it boggles my mind that we continue to run the power play what appears to be 9.9 times out of 10 running plays. Our OL is stuggling (see Schwartz getting owned lol) and our backs are continue to get hit in the backfield... Why? Because we keep running these delayed and late developing runs (such as the power or off tackle). The defense knows these have pretty much been the only kind of runs we've been using this year, so they send delayed and disguised blitzes, such as the safety (Goldson I believe) today. The defense has the advantage there because those late breaking blitzers already see whether it was a counter or the direction of the OL and they just go after the runner b/c the blockers are occupied with the guys already in the box.

Why not just slam it into the OL. Dive, Slam, Isos, whatever... These late developing run plays are putting our guys in horrible positions and exploiting are weaknesses. Hopefully we can use them correctly again once Otah comes back.
