The Panthers have yet to reach the postseason under Tepper, the 67-year-old founder of Appaloosa Management, who bought the franchise for $2.275 billion in 2018. It’s not just fans complaining about his ownership, either: In the NFL Players Association’s most recent survey of its members, Tepper received a D-, the second-worst grade among the league’s 32 owners.

Forbes. LOL.

Owning a sports team is now a billionaire’s toy now. The days of Michael Jordan or a Jeanie Buss owning teams are long gone.

I remember when people thought Diddy could afford to buy the Panthers, he would have had to sell everything he owned just to cover the $750 million needed to own only 30% of the team.

I don't think anyone that was realistic thought that he could afford the team. Just imagine if he had swung it, the Panthers would be looking for a new owner right now.

You weren't aware of his strategic reserves of baby oil? Those could be worth a considerable amount.

Reminder that Tepper made a lot of his fortune by buying debt from companies and then asking the government for a bailout on the debt he now owns. In a world of scummy billionaires, he somehow manages to be even scummier.

Really wish their was more awareness around how very rich people make money...its almost never "hard work and fortitude" its taking advantage of people and institutions

Jordan would have been worth over 2 billion if not for his gambling.
