More panthers fans were here for fan fest

When we were setting up for the game winning field goal I kept yelling "hold onto the damn ball." Was glad I was able to say something like that this year, finally.

Bigger question is did Boo and her friend make it up on the big screen for the fan cameo pictures.

No!! and we both emailed our pic...it was a pretty good pic too, look on Facebook. There was us and then the 49ers fan behind us snuck in and put his hat in the picture all smiley and happy.....

hahaha and then they lost

Some of the pics they put up there were horrible! You couldn't even see some of the pictures b/c they were cut off. They need to hire a new picture picker

I'd say it was about 25% 49ers fans yesterday. They were loud in the first quarter. Even though the stadium was less full than any game to date this year, there were more people at the end than any game to date this year. You can tell that by how crowded it is walking back to your car.

As for JR, we all are grateful he brought a team here. But that doesn't give him a life long pass to get away with anything. If he raped a girl, killed a dog, lynched a few of his employees, and cursed in a babies face...I'm pretty sure we'd be allowed to boo him. Some people are displeased with what they think he did this season. I agree with the earlier poster that he is allowed to say it's pathetic to boo JR, but you must admit he can't get a free pass on everything he does. When you're a public figure...you have to deal with the public. What if he helps turn us into the Lions and we're horrible for many years? Will you still cheer him?

The "earlier poster" is a she.

I think what JJR has done, as bad as some would say it is, doesn't compare to what you're saying at all ... so worse than apples and oranges.

ALOOOOOOTTT of people left before the end.

I yelled at a few people for leaving and told them we appreciated their support.

Too bad they missed the best part of the game.

In most of my pics though, the stadium looks fairly empty. There was a good amount of 49er fans around us, which was awesome towards the end:ciappa:

You wanna come in and be negative and leave early? Fine, we don't want you there anyways.

I am still feeling sorry for the poor little kid wearing the bag over his head....you were brutal on the little fella.:D

I reserved my abuse for the "Jersey Shore" extras posing as 49er fans. They did not even last until halftime with the abuse I was dishing out....fun times.

Oh, screw you ....

Oh sorry I forgot about that 2001 initiative in south Carolina to pay for a new uptown arena in Charlotte.

The only things south carolinians will spend money on are establishment clause breaking license plates and their governors south American stag parties.

brutal? aww cmonnn I just told him to take the bag off his head or go home. We don't want that in our stadium.

He also looked like an idiot b/c even though we won, he kept it on.

Not at the bags over the head point yet.

Nothing compared to the way we treated Snookie. She was actually proud we were calling her that. Then when she turned around I realized she was even more busted than Snookie, if thats even possible.

lol, if he did those things I hope he'd get more than boos.

people can boo him if they want, but they'll be cheering again once we start winning, which could be as early as next year. I do not think we are the detroit lions. The reason the Lions sucked so bad for so long was terrrrrrrrrrrrrible drafting in the first round and elsewhere. This is not a problem we've really had, though our GM is a bit too free-spending with draft picks for the next year... but really, Brown & Edwards are the only ones I've questioned and it's too early to say Edwards was a bust.

'course, if we rip off a win streak this year, will he look as bad?

I know, my example was dripping with sarcasm. I just wanted to make the point that public figures don't get a free ride because of one awesome deed they did. You have to keep yourself liked.

Nope, not silly. My preference. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Gamecock. Same with Panthers. It's my ethos, my upbringing from going to football games as a youngster with my dad and uncles. I may not be happy, but I will never boo my own team.

Of course, you do what you wish. Your right.

That is a little different than "And by the way -- you jerkoffs who were there who booed when they showed Mr. and Mrs. Richardson on the big screen ... you can kiss my big fat ass. You're pathetic."

Richardson has responded well so far and I expect him to put a winner back on the field if not next year because of the lockout then the following year. I just don't agree with how he handled the previous offseason and his tight lipped interaction with fans. That's why fans are booing and they have every right, especially if they bought tickets.

But this is really the first season that Richardson showed some greed and Charlotte has not responded well to that in the past.

This is my view as well. As far as I can tell this is a one-off season and JR is totally committed to getting back on track very quickly once he finishes his little labor initiative.

He has been a great owner up til this year

    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
