Your ideal season end

whats even more scarey than that is the raiders could potentially end up handing over the #1 overall pick to the pats

Da Raiders have 2 wins already and 5 teams are worse right now so probably not #1 but top 10 likely.

But next year the Patriots are looking at 2 1st round draft picks, theirs and the Raiders.

Then our 2nd, probably pick 33 or 34 overall, and then add their 2nd round pick.

Then 2 3rd round picks, theirs and Minnesota's.

All potentially in the first year with a rookie salary cap.

This is why the Patriots are who they are and we are....the Raiders.

I just can't bring myself to hope we tank just for the #1 overall pick (which could end up a bust). As a fan it would be much more gratifying to see us pull ourselves out of nowhere and make a playoff run...Then after the we lose fire fox...

A 1-15 or 2-14 record is not the sort of thing I could bring myself to hope for, but there's a part of me that quietly understands it could be the best thing overall for the team.

Hate it for some of the young guys though. For some, this could be their only shot at a career, or could derail what might have otherwise been promising :nonod:

I am going to chuck out another alternative situation

Finish rank average and miss the playoffs, BUT the following happens:

* Gettis or LaFell develop in the second half of the season giving us a legit #2

* Moore or Clausen steady the ship, cut out the mistakes and put up decent but not ground breaking numbers

* Our defence finishes in the top 10 in the important areas due to a competent offense

In that event we really do not need the upper picks for the holes we would have as we would be focusing on the trenches and positions that are usually just effective in the mid rounds. The only reason we need the upper picks is if we want a game changer at QB, WR or DE.

Wow, this is why we have one of the most pathetic fan bases in the league. You guys are hoping for losses? Sure, we don't really have a chance to make the play-offs, but us going 2-14 or 1-15 would entail our players looking like absolute sh*t and not developing for the rest of the season. That's one hell of a steep price to pay for a high first round pick that could easily be a bust. The best thing for this team would be for them to start improving, scraping together some wins and developing in the positions where we need it most (WR, QB, D-Line).

I would much rather see a new coach come in to a 6-10 or 7-9 team with a first round pick in the teens and a roster full of guys on the cusp of being great than a 2-14 team in complete rebuild mode with the first overall pick.

............

Chickensh*ts.

For those wanting to tank the season which player is it that you are desperate for??? From what I have heard, this draft class is no where near the last few years due to the uncertainty of the league.

Only way I want the top 1-5 picks is if the rookie wage scale is implemented, because then we can miss and not set our franchise back years.
