Brentson Buckner rips Peppers on WFNZ

Buckner is a POS for speaking ill of Pep just because Pep apparently wants to leave. His mouth belies what little class that he really has. Furthermore, Buckner---like all of us---have seen what Julius did for our defense, and what he has done for our defense on Sundays. So don't give me any of that he knows better than the fans crap. Buckner was never ever the talent that Peppers was, and it showed on the field. As a matter of fact, he benefited from the presence of Peppers, just like everyone on the O-line has.

What a bunch of bitches. I am referring to everyone who is talking out of their asses about Peppers. I can understand being upset/disappointed that he wants to leave.

But to say he takes plays off, and talk how great Buckner is for doing what he's always done, run his mouth, is just stupid.

Anybody who watches the game knows Peppers doesn't take plays off.

If anything, his technique and his lack of moves is what disappointed me the most about Peppers. He's been in the league long enough that he should have all the technique down, and a book of moves.

You haven't paid attention if you think Peppers never takes a play off.

Well, the criticism of Pepp has been around for a couple of years now and was pretty pronounced last year when he took most of the year off.

The telling statement for me was when Pepp indicated he was more excited for the National Championship game with UNC than he was during the Super Bowl.

My hope is, with Pepp gone, Beason takes control of the locker room and sets the rest of the defense straight. Another additional by subtraction boost could be coming.

So JP just wants to play ball. He doesnt want a leadership role, he just wants to do what he does. In '07 Richardson called him out, that wasnt taken well and we all saw how it played out. Earlier in his career he had little responsibility as far as 'being the man' and we all saw what he could do. Now, the Panthers want more out of him than 'just doing his job' and Peppers doesnt want any part of it. Say what you will, but none of us can hate on the man for wanting to be better. I am hoping he'll end up like Mushin -gone for a few years then back after he sees the grass is not always greener, as Jenkins would have him believe...

Buck went off on Pep again today, said he thinks the Panthers should try to sign Haynesworth to clog the inside with Kemo, sign a yound quick athletic DE and tell him to pin his ears back and go get the QB! He said Lucas is as good as gone and they will give Gross Lucas's money.

I was under the impression if Lucas goes he'd have a huge cap number anyway. 6-8 million? Basically I think we need to extend/ renegotiate his contract. Anyone know for sure?

This thread has taught me....

Supporters of Peppers hate Buckner and think he is full of sh*t

Non Supporters of Peppers Love Buckner and thank him for speaking the truth.

:D

I wouldn't say I'm a supporter of Peppers, I'm not getting pissed off that he's leaving unlike a lot of people, I actually posted a few times that letting pep go may be a good thing even before he said anything on this MB and a few others.

But I have also listened to Buckner quit a bit this season on the Radio, and I really do believe that he is jealous of the money that Peppers is making. because he brings that up about Peppers about as much as anything else.

I do pay attention. I see times when he is worn out (along with the rest of the defense) and I also see him doing his assignments. You can say whatever you want to, but I do pay attention to the game.

I also don't hate Buckner. Never have, never will. But I do understand him for the person that he is. An average DT, that has good knowledge of the game, and loves to talk. Nothing wrong with that.

You think Peppers doesn't take plays off.

Breston Bucker, a guy who played with Peppers thinks hes lazy and does take plays off.

I think Bucker is a more reliable source.

Actually, you haven't paid attention if you think he does.

14.5 sacks people. Highest sack total of his career. People were bitching in the offseason and all the talk was about "sacks this" and "sacks that". Well, he delivered and people are still bitching about him. So what that he doesn't want to play here anymore. He isn't putting the organization in a bind, he wants whats best for not only him, but the team as well. He stated that himself. Peppers has done alot for this organization and is the best d-lineman in team history. There are still people here upset over 2007 despite the year before in 2006 where he had his highest sack total ever and second highest number of tackles and was an All-Pro selection. So what about the 2007 season anyway? He just registered his highest sack total of his career this season and was once again an All-Pro selection. So for those still upset over 2007 or still pissing and moaning and bashing Peppers to no end simply 'cause they're butt hurt he's not gonna be here next season...Get Over It!
