After watching the Delhomme horror show throughout last season I kept a close eye on alot of the QBs that would be entering the 2010 draft. I watched numerous games with Pike and this was my conclusion.

As for Pike, the guy is going to be terrible in the pros. Bad decision making, absolutely horrendous timing with his WRs. Half of his completed passes in college would be INTs in the NFL.

I said this prior to the draft, when alot of people were still buzzing about him being a 3rd/4th rounder, possibly sneaking into round 2.

I wouldn't have taken the guy in the 7th round, he's a waste of a roster spot. Just my opinion but then again, I wonder how many people calling for him have even seen him play in college? Watched actual game tape not just looking up stats or a 2 minute youtube highlight video?

It helps when players from smaller conferences step up and play better competition. If you don't judge him from that then judge him by the fact that IIRC he missed a lot of time and the backup QB put up the same numbers, you can choose.

You judge him off his entire body of work not just one game.

I see a raw player but with more potential than the average 6th rounder.

starting Pike right now is not going to help us. Long term, he could develop into something good, but not right now. By the end of the season ,if it is completely obvious for some reason that neither Moore nor Clausen can do anything with the team, well, we may see him... but I really don't have faith in him. I was not particularly impressed by him, more by his team. He played a part, but yeah.

Our OL and WR's would have to pick up their game for even Payton Manning to look like a good QB. I just don't see Pike making any difference under these circumstances.
