Pike?

Pike is tall. That's about his only redeeming quality. He has a weak girl arm and so-so accuracy. He benefited from being tall and playing in a spread offense at Cincy, so it infalted his numbers. He still has a long way to go before he's a legitimate threat to be an NFL QB.

Luck, Pike blah blah. QB is not the biggest issue. We have leadership issues. Smith is a heck of a player but he has not been on the field. When he is on the field he seems inpatient with our rookie QB. Say what you will but our leaders are no longer on the team. Jake, Hoover, and Moose were veterans that pushed the young guys. Back to topic. Pike's ceiling is "serviceable backup".

Pike is tall and has good accuracy just has to adjust to the pro-game

from what Gantt has said the panthers felt he was a legit 3rd-4th round QB...if the season is completely shot then I say around the end of the year when playoff teams are playing there backups give him a game for experience.

Just got done watching some of his highlights...

He's tall and accurate but doesn't have the strongest arm. Faster CBs in the NFL might be his problem at the moment. He needs to get used to the game. But that might not happen until you stick him in there, so.................

What could we lose by giving Pike a chance? He was pretty good even though it was the spread offense at Cincy. But being in the spread doesn't change the fact he was pretty accurate throwing the ball. The only fault to that is most of the QB's who run it in college can't read defenses like they should since the coaches read it for them and call the plays according to the defensive lineup. But give him a chance, the season is lost already, so it can't hurt!

Watch him play against Florida and you will see why he went in the 6th.

yeah because judging a player off one game will always give you the truth.

It helps when players from smaller conferences step up and play better competition. If you don't judge him from that then judge him by the fact that IIRC he missed a lot of time and the backup QB put up the same numbers, you can choose.
