Could Matt Moore be in a similar situation as Vince Young was last season?

In the sense that most thought that Young had lost his mojo and was a complete bust but surprised many when the team was down and they turned back to Young to only began a winning streak.

Sometimes it takes someone to be benched to realize what he really has and that is motivation to prove the doubters wrong...

Btw, I am not an advocate for Moore or Clausen, I just want something to happen that will spark this team.

I really feel like Moore will be better...I think he was pressing at the beginning of the year and he was trying to make the big play instead of taking what the defense would give him. His INT's in the first game were all inside the 20 and he was trying to force it in for a touchdown every time. I hope he has realized that all he needs to do is make smart throws and let the receivers do the rest. Also, as sad as it is, I feel like we have improved the receiving corps with the additions of clowney and Thomas...if only by experience.

For some reason, I actually have a feeling Moore is going to come out play well. Who knows, but I think the change might work out well. I think he realizes that this very well may be his last shot at being a starter in the NFL.

I think Moore has to find his mojo first.

he's proved that when the season is shot he plays good.He has to prove he can play when the pressure is on and he can handle being a starter.

IMO thats a little different than Vince Young. I also dont know if he can prove that this year seeing as the season is almost shot.

looking back at last year for the titans...sure they pulled it out kind of but what did it get them? a little bit of pride, an 8-8 record, no playoffs, a crappy draft pick, and kept fisher from getting fired (which probably should have happened esp. since fisher fought to keep vince from starting and they won games in spite of fisher). yay.

should they have tried to win games? sure. would they have been better off in the long run if they hadn't?

not sure what any of this has to do with us this year. probably nothing.

No, Moore has never achieved Vince Young's level of success.

You're talking about a first round pick versus an undrafted free agent QB in Young and Moore.

Come out passing, can't run because of the passing game.

BULLSHIT.

The only recipe for Panther success would be borrowed from the 1986 Superbowl Champion NY Giants.

460 pass attempts

560 rush attempts

This is how you win when your QB is less than stellar:

25 passes, 38 runs.

I agree that in the long run, running will win the game. But the defense needs to be loosened up to get the run to work and if we come out running first, it will be shut down and then the passing game will follow and we will get what we have been getting for 5 weeks....another loss.

    • For the silly people that worship her it will be that.  The Coleman 'legend' thing, they did that with another fairly average player that was here and I sort of mocked or questioned the 'legend' status. Instantly caught crap for insulting someone's favorite Panther. So okay, Kurt Coleman is a Legend.
    • You allow him to compete--you all are talking as if I am proposing making him the starter. Give him a new coach, new weapons, good OL, etc. and see what happens. You are saying, "Well Damn.  It did not work for 3 guys..."  Right now, our C is injured, we lost our top 2 WRs.  Better question:  If you need a QB, Why would you not take a chance on bringing in a QB who was a former first rounder, a good arm, intelligence, mobility, youth, etc.  and see how he does out of NY--with a better OL, better running game, better receivers.  I am not saying give him a 10-year contract, I am saying give him a chance. You act like there is no improvement on offense here--it was a 2 year process, and next year is year 2.  To me, how can you sit there with Bryce and an opportunity to sign a veteran QB on the cheap comes available and you say--"Not us. We're good.  We are waiting for Patrick Mahommes."  Jone's problem is obviously mental--and he has little support.  Why is this so frigging hard to comprehend.  It is called "bottom fishing" and it is better than sitting in the boat.
    • I think we're going to fall from behind quite early and be forced to abandon the run game.  3 rushes -2 yards 1 catch -10 yards
