How can any exclusive deal the NFL signs hold up now that American Needle has won a supreme court ruling?

Nothing has been decided yet. American Needle filed suit several years ago. A lower court threw out their suit, they appealed and it wen to the top where it was ruled that the suit should proceed. They haven't "won" anything yet but the ability to get into the courts. After the case is heard, and all appeals, the Nike deal will have already run it's course.

The Supreme Court ruled that the NFL is subject to section 1 of the Sherman Antitrust Act, which was a big victory for American Needle by all accounts.

Now it goes back to a lower court, it could take several more years before a final decision is reached but it could potentially threaten the Nike exclusive deal.
