CatMan's 10/21 practice observations

I am concerned about two QB's splitting time in practice... at a certain point you have to pick someone and give them the majority of the snaps.
i'd be surprised if they did choose someone the next few weeks. no one has confidence in either option, nor should they. still it doesn't mean good things for the team.

Yup, unless Moore plays really well this weekend and/or we get a win I'd suspect they will continue to split work between them.

This is just my opinion, but if we lose this weekend and/or Moore plays poorly I'd say we should go back to Clausen and let him take his lumps. At 0-5 the season is all but lost, at 0-6 it's over... might as well use the rest of the season to continue evaluating and developing the rookie.

10 was out there taking reps and was working on the scout team as Crabtree (sorry, forgot to mention that in my OP). Also spend some time at the end of practice catching punts out of a jugs machine.

Michael Crabtree only wishes he was Armanti Edwards.

Hey CatMan, you need to change your KEEP POUNDING! tagline to read Huddle Spy.

EDIT: must spread rep around before giving CatMan72 any more...dammit

only thing we have to remember is it isn't just about Moore/Clausen throwing the ball in practice......

outside of Smitty...you have garbage WRs up against some solid CBs. I mean, LaFell working against Marshall doesn't mean a pass should be completed. Gettis vs. Gamble etc. QBs could put the ball where it is suppose to be and the WR doesn't get there...or the WR might not be getting open. I mean, i have even watched Captain blanket Fitzgerald from the moment the ball was snaped until the play was over.....The DBs imo are signifcantly better than the WRs not named Smitty.

good point. just for a counter point to that, though, smith isn't catching the ball much either.

well, I think Smitty was right around his average in terms of balls while Moore was playing. I think the speed of the game and excessive coverage made Jimmy too cautious about looking for him. Moore seems to have the Jake mindset....put 11 defenders on Smitty and he is gonna try to keep him involved.
