Wow, didn't see this coming (not that Bernardeau shouldn't have been replaced). Would rather have seen Garry Williams man the LT spot (where he practiced during TC and preseason) and switch Gross to RT. Not sure this is the week to change the lineup against a pretty stellar 49ers D. Here's hoping this will jumpstart the blocking up front.

I can't figure it out really. He had a meniscus tear and resultant surgery. The tear must have been repaired instead of removed. If removed the patient is often walking in a few days and back to normal activities in a few weeks.

If it is repaired it could take 3-4 months for it to heal.

prior to this year i had complete faith in magazu. this year...not so much.

Come on, years of putting together top notch O-lines with journeymen and late-rounders and you're going to give up on him after five games? It looks more to me like the players aren't putting in as much effort as they could--may be that they think the ownership threw the season away, may be they don't think our QB's can get the job done, I don't know. But Magazu is legit.

i guess and i realize that it isn't the olines fault that so many are getting in the backfield. no way can 5 block 8 or 9.

i think more it has to do with my whole perception of the coaching staff. i just don't think they are doing a good job overall. he has done well with "other people's garbage" in the past. i just hoped that things would be better by now. hopefully it will be.

Makes sense to at least try this and see how it goes, Bernadeau was having a rough time and it was one of the things affecting our ability to run the ball.

Playing on an Oline isn't a 'normal activity.' They must have felt there would have been long term issues with removing rather then repairing due to what he will be doing with his knee.
