In any losing season, there are going to be more negatives on the field than positive. In a winless season, it can be hard to find the positives.

Overall, our D has been a positive even if it isn't one of our best in recent years (statistically it may end up being among the best though). I like the fire some of our guys are showing, especially our linebackers. The reason I like Meeks' system is I feel it puts the LBers in a position to succeed. that being said, we could really use a big guy up front. =(

Hopefully the other side of the ball gets on track this Sunday and we have a complete game.

Personally defense has always been more fun and exciting to watch and I would take a good defensive battle any day over a shootout. Saying that I really think our defense could be elite this year once/if the offense steps it up. Last year the defense really gelled at the end of the season and I am looking for more of the same this year. If our line could generate some pressure it would make our secondary look better. Our LBs are top notch. Basically I enjoy watching our young, fast, intense defense play every Sunday no matter what else is going on with the team.

True Story:

Last night I was watching my beloved SF Giants and discussing the Panthers with Mama-San. My youngest Daughter, the 5 YO was asking why I was so bummed and I told her about my frustrations and how I will learn to accept the good plays the Panthers make regardless of the game's outcome.

She asked a few more questions and came up with this:

"It's not like we have lost all of our games, we just haven't played the ones we can win yet..."

We then proceeded to kill off the last of Mama-Sans Peanut Butter Ice Cream.

Our Defense is 5th against the pass and 12th overall in total Defense. Problem is we are 26th against the run, typical Meeks D.

Any teams defense will be run on cause the defense get tired and we never have a lead in points.

The defense hasn't been the issue just like I said it wouldn't .

The issue is the offense.

If the offense can control the clock, our run defense will be much better.

Pass D is great. They're 3rd best in interceptions. 1st in opposing Qb's qb rating (66.6).

Seems unfair to those guys that our offense is playing so terrible.
