Everyone realizes that Trgovac is merely a Fox yes-man right?

The defense was playing great early in the year. I just think whomever you want to blame didn't make enough adjustments in our scheme to throw opposing offenses a curve. I mean everyone knew that we run damn near a base cover 3/2 for most of the first half. Add to that the Kemo/Lewis/whoever else was playing DT injuries near the end of the year, and you see bad things happening. Jeff Davidson had the excuse that he brought in a new system and it took a year for the offense to learn. Trgo has no such excuse.

It's been amusing to watch people get so worked over their hatred of Turdovac, yet those same people don't get worked up over John Fox.

Newsflash: Mike Trgovac's job is basically to do what Fox tells him to do. He runs the defense Fox wants and isn't going to rock the boat.

You all realize that if we get rid of Trgovac that the replacement will just be Trgovac 2.0 right?

It's possible, but I doubt it's that clear cut. It reminds me of when others were making similar statements relating to the Henning/Davidson situation, that Henning was just Fox's puppet and Davidson would perform no better. But I would say that Davidson has done a hell of a job, and that for once, the team's offense was one of the best in the league (for most of the year).

I just dont understand how Fox's playing physical and stopping the run turned into complex soft zone coverage. At one point with AZ we were playing a 3-4 nickle with a cover 3 zone. Sorry thats not physical nor rushing 4. Really this years D didnt look like Foxs ideals at all IMO.

Fox will never ever let one of his coaches do what they want without any input. What's the point of him even being there? Just let Trgo and Jeff run the show. No, he is deep in both men's gameplans.

To be fair...it's because of D-Lo and Stewart. When we had Foster it just wasn't the same. Smith still gets the same numbers he did then. King actually had piss poor numbers this season. Last season under Davidson wasn't special at all. It's Williams and Stewart that made him look good this season and will again next season...and even more if we get a better #2 in here (by better, I mean younger and faster than Moose with the same skills).

No doubt some key draft picks are paying off (Otah in addition to Williams and Stewart). And I don't hold the 2007 season against Davidson. I'm not sure how anyone could. We obviously have the players on offense, and I think Davidson has used them well. As for Smith, he is averaging 100 yards a game for the first time in his career (according to the Observer). I'd certainly rather have Davidson than Henning.

He only played in 14 games though. Stat is skewed. Sure, he still may have done it, but when you get 1,400+ yds in 14 games, that's an avg of 100.

Davidson is just as vanilla as Henning. We just don't notice it as much now because we have a better offensive line.

Check out the success the Dolphins had this year with Henning running the show on the offensive side.
