4pm Trade Deadline....

I don't see Carolina making any huge moves, but there could be some really interesting moves around the league today. I'm very curious to see if GB makes a play for a RB, Dallas makes a desperate grab for anything, and if Washington finally figures out a way to dump Haynesworthless.

Will we? I doubt it. Should we? Yeah.

Any team that would trade us would be looking for a player who has seen time on the field, and played reasonably well, and who is now being benched because of a known talent. The only positions that could I can imagine would even apply for us would be running back, and possibly a tight end.

What should the trade look like? Goodson/Sutton/Barnidge for a young WR/RG/RT.

But knowing us, I'd be way off and we'd pick up something on defense that I could never have imagined, and which will have zero impact.

Its conceivable that some team might have interest in one of our Quarterbacks, since they may assume we'd trade them on the cheap because of our lack of points.

Panthers doesn't have the heart to make a trade, nor the brains to know when we need one

Not true at all :nonod:

Marty Hurney has generally been one of the more active trading GMs, and has been on the better end of trades more often than the reverse.

The difference is he doesn't agree with a panic stricken fanbase that thinks "Oh my gosh! We just have to trade something for somebody!"

(hey, who cares whether or not it actually makes us better in the future, as long as we do something...)

There was never a good reason to trade Williams, Stewart or Smith unless someone came at us with a ridiculous offer, and that was never likely to happen.

I cant remember that last big trade the Panthers made that had everybody get hype and talk about it... if we even had one

We never traded any great names nor traded to bring in any great names
