Can people change?

I believe people can change.

But as Cat (in her infinite wisdom and knowledge) has pointed out, they have to want to change and you can't make someone change.

For those that say people cannot change, you have blown a big hole in the whole "go to church and get saved" theory...

I despise change when it comes to things that directly affect me. I got this trait honest, from my granddaddy. My grandmother used to joke about the day she and my mom decided to play a prank on him and move a chair out of the den and replaced it with a table when he wasn't home. That night he asked the question 3 times why the change was made obviously making him restless. Even though the chair was one he never really used. Just his nature. My wife says I show this trait at times (even though moving stuff around the house has never bothered me too much) about other things in my life

IMO, all people change whether they want to or not. The problem is, if we see them on a regular basis, we don't really notice the change as much. My wife might not think I have changed over the 13 years we have been married, but thats because she is close to me and might not notice. If she were to jump in time from 1998 to now, she would likely notice a lot of changes.

Of course, not all changes are for the good. :)
