Can people change?

Just a nice topic for discussion. Is it possible for people to TRULY change? I don't mean just quitting a bad habit or going on a diet, but change who they are, fundamentally, as a person?

Personally, I believe people are who they are. They can fake themselves into being desirable by society, but you can never really change who you are through and through. The whole faking thing falls into lying (which I believe all people do), but that is a whole other discussion.

Tough question to answer.

Perhaps one can changes ones outlook on life, habits, actions, or appearance.

In the end you are what you once were no matter how much of a change you have made in your life.

The trick is getting everyone, including yourself, to forgive and forget your past actions.

Yes. I continue to evolve. I'm not the same person at 53, that I was at 23.

At 23, I was an engineer and only saw the world in black & white, right and wrong. Now at 53, I see it as infinite shades of grey. The world is full of possibilities. What was once wrong is now not. However, was is right for one person, may not be right for another.

It took me 30 years to A) come to terms with my Parents. How they raised me. B) To find for myself what is important in my life. (This has changed a great deal in 30 years.)
