Moore to start

At some point, we're going to need to design a game plan to get Smith the ball that doesn't involve throwing into double+ coverage.

They looked like they were starting to do that with Jimmy right before Smith got injured.

Yeah those 2 passes for 11 yards were the start of something amazing. LOL.

It isn't rocket science, start him in motion, make him the inside receiver in a double set to one side, put him in the slot on a crossing route. It isn't hard at all.

I just bought tickets for three of the last home games, hoping to see Clausen play. AT 0-5, what is the point of bringing Moore back in, unless Fox sees something he likes that we haven't seen in the past. I don't understand this move. Winning a few more games this year at the expense of not allowing the young QB to take reps and develop for the future makes my head ache. Fox is not going to be here next year anyways.

I think if this forum argues about it long enough he is compelled to make a change :)

I honestly think the fear is the donut. He probably thinks that with Moore's experience they have a better shot at winning a game faster. Seems reasonable to me although I would have just stuck it out with Clausen. End of day it's something to talk about and hopefully Matt plays better.

I can't believe so many people have given up on this season and would rather see Clausen flail along than to win some games. You folks need to take a look at the NFL landscape this year and realize that it's still possible for the Panthers to make the play offs because the competition is beatable. Sure it's unlikely to happen, but how can everybody complain about the coaching staff not wanting to win while simultaneously expecting them to give up?

I don't see how this is a bad thing.

If we are going to suck this year, why run our 2nd round pick into the ground in doing so.

Clausen gains nothing from getting his head bashed in every sunday, fumbling numerous times, and throwing to practice squad recievers.

Get your clip board Jimmy, smile, and learn.

This quote made sense when they replaced Clausen for Moore.

It's not like they went out and got a great qb to take over. They are going back to the QB they benched.

I don't think Moore will play as bad as he did, especially since expectations for this season are shot.

But forgive some of us for not being overly optimistic about the playoffs right now.

Maybe the play offs are out of the question, maybe not, but you can't give up this early and Moore gives us a better chance to win. It was a good call.

I'm not challenging the call.

I had a theory on why to play Clausen but it did not have to do with his performance through 3 games. Moore is right in the NFL production is the only thing that keeps you safe.

I just hate this f**king flip flopping when Fox stuck by Jake through 11 games when he played the same way as Moore and Clausen right now and telling us he gives us the best chance to win after a 4INT day.

If Moore had continued to play like total dog poo until now....the same people bitching about "flip flopping" would be bitching that Fox refused to make a change.
