Moore to start

Pike will start a game this year guarantee it.

You's trollin!

No chance. Dude is too used to the spread...or whatever weird crap the Bearcats used. I do like his height though. Jimmy is a shrimp. I looked it up though and Jimmy isn't the shortest in the league. There are like two or three shorter than he is. One of whom is astronomically better.

This controversy isn't going to go away nor is it set that Moore will be the quarterback for more than the next few games, if that.

Moore was pulled to see if Clausen could get it done. Clausen was pulled because he looked scared out there and wasn't ready.

Now Moore has had a chance to sit and watch and hopefully learn. Clausen can sit and learn and gain his composure. Moore is starting because it isn't prductive for Clausen to keep taking a pounding but this wasn't an endoresement of Moore. If Moore struggles still, I wouldn't be surprised to see Clausen in there again. The old keep the starter in there doesn't apply when there is essentially no starter yet. Until 1 of them shows he can do the job, this may keep going round and round.

One of the more sensible posts on here. This is a good move for the development of Clausen. He isn't seeing things fast enough yet. Bottom line he wasn't ready. He got thrown in there not because he won the job but because Moore lost it.

The best case scenario for the Panthers is for Moore to start playing like he did at the end of last year and for Clausen to win the job back at some point. Holding the clipboard will be good for him. It will allow him to see things he wouldn't with pass rushers bearing down.

Here's to just hoping we have a receiver get over 50 yards against the 49ers. That would be an accomplishment.

I'm indifferent to Matt & Jimmy. I just hope we may get to see Armanti more wildcat/qb/receiver or in whatever formation.

All I want is a win and am not gonna get riled up over a coaching staff that we know sucks and makes stupid decisions.

if you think Clausen is bad and not the answer, why would you care about "Carr"ing him? Quite a few of the posters here seem to like to hide the fact they don't think he should start because 1) they think he sucks or 2) they prefer Moore. That's fine. Don't act like you're saying he should be benched to protect him though.

The fact is, Moore & Clausen both have sucked. Moore threw INTs, had turnovers. It was bad. Clausen threw less picks, less TDs, but had more fumbles. He was bad.

Make no mistake, though. This start isn't some ringing endorsement of Moore. The very fact we got to this point at all tells you how confident the coaches are in Moore and how terrible our offense is as a whole =(

I do hope Moore does well, I just don't believe he will. Will be fun to see how people on here switch from defending Clausen with talk of various O troubles to attacking Moore and from attacking Clausen to defending Moore with various talk of O troubles. I think Clausen could have learned more in the game, but eh. Not like our O was at all designed for his skill set.

PS: Moore played 2 bad games. Stop saying things like, "He had one bad game." He had two bad games. Both he played. Let's call it what it is; the more experienced of our two bad QBs is starting.

I just hate this f**king flip flopping when Fox stuck by Jake through 11 games when he played the same way as Moore and Clausen right now and telling us he gives us the best chance to win after a 4INT day.

That is why he isn't doing it this year. He learned to not be afraid to make a change if need be.

I would think folks should be happy he is being responsive and willing to change things around. He is obviously learning from his mistakes.

At some point, we're going to need to design a game plan to get Smith the ball that doesn't involve throwing into double+ coverage.

They looked like they were starting to do that with Jimmy right before Smith got injured.

Smith is a threat no matter where he touches the ball. This offense needs to find ways to get him involved without forcing the QB to throw into stupid coverage. That would cut down on Moore's ints, too.

Does anyone remember when people knocked Moore's arm strength? Haha. How times have changed around here.

I just bought tickets for three of the last home games, hoping to see Clausen play. AT 0-5, what is the point of bringing Moore back in, unless Fox sees something he likes that we haven't seen in the past. I don't understand this move. Winning a few more games this year at the expense of not allowing the young QB to take reps and develop for the future makes my head ache. Fox is not going to be here next year anyways.
