Moore to start

The way I read this is the organization feels we have a better shot at winning this game so they will play the slightly safer QB. In the previous games I feel like we expected to lose, so why not let the young guy with more upside get some reps and maybe, just maybe he will hit one outta the park.

Also, I think Clausen's toe is more of a problem than we led to believe. It looked like he tweaked it pretty bad in the last game.

5.80 YPA, 42.4 Completion Percentage, 2 TD, 6 INT, 8 Sacks, 33.3 rating

Good thing we're upgrading.

0 fumbles = upgrade.

And really it's 2 TD, 4 Int. 2 were in garbage time after replacing Clausen. Neither were his fault.

1) if you throw out those 2 ints, drop one from clausen.

2) moore has had fumbles, 3 of them. O.o

That's all I needed to read to know what to think.

If you actually hope we torpedo this season so we can lock down a #1 pick rather than winning 3-5 games, then you sir, are a waste of time to argue with. You are the worst kind of fan, and a blight on our legions of loyal panthers fans who want nothing more than to see the team do well week in and week out. If you are so overwhelmed by logic that you're actually hoping for the Panthers to fail, then I suggest you take up watching chess, and avoid all sports that require a modicum of emotional investment.

I'm done.

Good, I'm glad you're done. Now go cheer those boys to their 3 wins. Meanwhile, this POOR excuse for a fan will be going to his 57th Panthers game on Sunday. :)

To be fair just because you go to games doesn't mean you are a fan. From what I've heard it means you are a fan of the other team. Also, many people go to games because it's a social outing and that is the environment the stadium fosters. I'm sure you are a real fan but that defense is pretty weak.

Giants aren't a weak D. There DL has been causing problems since week 1 forward.

I dont' agree with that statement at all

Week 1 they gave up 18 points to us (lol)

Week 2 Gave up 38 points to Ind

Week 3 gave up 29 to Tenn

then they started playing good D

Week 4 gave up 3 to Chicago

Week 5 gave up 10 to a very good Houston team

This controversy isn't going to go away nor is it set that Moore will be the quarterback for more than the next few games, if that.

Moore was pulled to see if Clausen could get it done. Clausen was pulled because he looked scared out there and wasn't ready.

Now Moore has had a chance to sit and watch and hopefully learn. Clausen can sit and learn and gain his composure. Moore is starting because it isn't prductive for Clausen to keep taking a pounding but this wasn't an endoresement of Moore. If Moore struggles still, I wouldn't be surprised to see Clausen in there again. The old keep the starter in there doesn't apply when there is essentially no starter yet. Until 1 of them shows he can do the job, this may keep going round and round.

Fair enough. But I am indeed a fan. I was just being an ass since he called me out for being annoyed with us dropping down in the draft order if Moore can get us 4-5 wins instead of 1-2 via Jimmy. I'd rather have the best draft pick we can get.

Now, you want to see people that go for a social outing, come see the dicks who sit next to me. They're either elderly, dress like bankers with no team colors, or sell their tickets to rival fans. It sucks.

Pike will start a game this year guarantee it.

Fox is a f**king moron. He starts our future franchise QB too early after 2 games, which lowers the confidence of Moore and has shell shocked Clausen. Now he puts Moore back in, which lowers the confidence of the QB of our future. F**k you Fox. Please fire him already!

Well, I don't think this will bother Clausen to much, wasn't he benched his freshman year at ND as well? He bounced back from that just fine.

This is basically what I said as well. At this point Moore would have to be lights out to be seriously considered a starting quarterback in 2011 for Carolina or anyone else. Assuming that is not going to happen, the pressure is somewhat less than it was to start the season. I think he will play better and hope for the team's sake he does. Hopefully he gets Smitty back.

As for Clausen, I'm close to giving up on a running team knowing how to install a rookie passing game. I haven't seen him (or Moore) play this poorly in a long time and I can't help but think it comes down to coaching. All of the problems were readily apparent from the very first preseason game. There is something seriously wrong with the offensive scheme no matter who is playing.
